Patch Tues 17th, Myth cap reset Monday 16th?

Since the cap of 300 is resetting Monday the 16th will we be able to recap to 300 and get another reset the next day when it changes over to 450? Or would we be 300/450 on the 17th?

Interesting.

Since this is the first major patch, no one will be able to say for sure, as there is no precedent.

No since the maintenance begins on the 16th at midnight PST and end on the 17th at midnight PST

You probably brought this to SE's attention by making this thread, and they will now make sure that our tome progress carries on as the cap is increased.

Yeah now we need an answer on this. If you cap before patch and it carries over to the 450 cap you going to be mad cause you wasted your Monday farming the hard way. If you don't do it and they reset you are going to miss out on 300 tomes. Thanks op I thought I only had to run wp/ak for one more week now I have to not only run it another week but all 300 tomes in one night!

You wont be able to farm tomes on monday the servers will be down all day

There is no way to cap it on a reset over a reset, because the maintenance starts at midnight on Monday morning for PST (even for other territories it doesn't matter). The real "reset" is later on in the day which is in maintenance time.

They're not going to reset the myth cap, they're only going to increase it.

Gawds... they do this one time for a very specific reason and then people get the idea that every major maintenance must reset tomestones.

There is with XI, they'll do the same general practice. When they raised the merit point cap to 20 then 30 (or straight to 30, been awhile) if you capped off at 10 with 1 exp till next Merit you'd still be capped off at 10 with 1exp till next merit. So unless they choose to leave you at your previous state (300 capped) you'll log in with 0/450. The again, with ARR they seem to be doing some things a bit backwards so don't be surprised if you login with 300/450 to make sure people can't "abuse it" off the bat.

almost every major update has a reset to it so depending on the time it happens you could cap and then have it reset after the update. SE was famous for that in xi

I think people will continue to ignore this and keep posting about what it will do.

you wont be able to play Monday cause the game will be in maintenance mode. so you will wont be able to cap points then get a rest to cap again.

The tomestone cap does NOT RESET AFTER MAINTEANCE (unless the maintenance happens to take place during the time when tomestones would reset anyway...)

Maintanance begin: Monday 8am (GMT)
Tome-Reset: Monday 3pm (GMT) (so 8h after maintanace begin)
Maintanace end: Tuesday 8am (GMT) (with increased tome limit)
So there will be no time to farm tomes to test if there will be a double-reset :o

yeap, reset happens on maintenance time.

The reset is followed on JST 0:00 Tuesday.

which happens to be during the maintenance.

Maintenance start on 17:00 16th the Monday JST, ends on 17:00 17th Tuesday JST.

So technically ppl can't cap myth again because Maintenance start 6 hours before Reset, and ends wayyyyyyy past reset.

So ppl dont know their timezone well.

You can't farm tombs on Monday because the servers will be down all day, when they would of normally reset.

Dec 16 Midnight PST - Dec 17 Midnight, Tombs reset 8am on Monday. So no way you can farm them.

Has it been mentioned yet that tome resets happen during maintenance so there is no way to farm tomes on Monday. I read this entire thread word for word and cant remember if that's been said or not. :rolleyes:

Cap will be Approximately 450. That was announced previously, and they stated they weren't sure if it would be higher or lower than that, so it could be as high as 500 or as low as 400.

We won't know the actual cap unti the 14th-17th.

huh? i may have read ppl wrong, but what is this about Tomestone reset? the only reset is the capped reset w

It only happened ONCE when we had two resets in one week during the ARR release. And this was due to S-E negligence. It was a one-time slip-up on their part. Which they had no intention of repeating. So no, even without the maintenance it will just have ended with a cap increase instead of a reset.

And the reset for 16th won't happen then i do not think anyway

Just to be safe, max out your tomes before maintenance. You're gonna have to max it out sooner or later. Reset occurs at 8 am pst. Maintenance takes places at 0:00 am pst so there's a whole 16 hours to farm for tomes b4 maintenance.

Sorry to ruin it, but normal reset time is during the maintenance. Resets occur Monday morning PST, and the game will be down all of Monday next week. (well, that's the allotted time, at least)

Guess nobody told Square Enix to never use midnight or noon when planning schedules.

What I want to know is that is the Patch is really going to be on the 17th? Something telling me it will be behind and late as usual.

Maintenance end is supposed to me midnight of the 17th PST at the latest so that would suggest the patch will be up and running as early as is possible on the 17th...that is as soon as it BECOMES Tuesday the 17th. :) Since they're using all Monday to patch the game and make hardware changes.

I imagine you will be 0/450 on tuesday. System is going to be down from 0300 pst on monday until tuesday well before cap resets on monday.
