From what the screenshots/video says its the "labyrinth of ancients" thats coming. Which was dungeon before crystal tower in FF3. From the last shot of the crystal tower video where you see the last boss, you can see the crystal tower in the background.
So were not really getting the crystal tower just throwing that out there.
So from what the video shows is were getting this Square wall Dungeon that goes around the crystal tower.

"labyrinth of ancients" hosted number of enemies that were included in FF14. One being King Behemoth.
So no crystal tower in 2.1?

We're not entering the Crystal Tower proper until 2.3, for now it's just a side-section of it.
We do get to fight most of the bosses that are in the Labyrinth of Ancients in the original FF3 though, at least the most iconic ones.
Their goal for CT is to keep expanding on it over the next year(years?), 2.3 will add a new section, so will 2.5, and probably 2.7 too if it comes out.
It makes sense for them to start at the beginning, and slowly expand on it linearly. It's extremely likely one update for the CT will be the Forbidden Land Eureka as well. -

When you go through T1-5 you're not even in the coils of bahamut, you are in an area above bahamut, before you proceed downward to bahamut in turns 3-5 (you are still not within his coils, T5 takes place in his hand). With CT it looks like it will be the same: Expect to be facing the gatekeepers of the Crystal Tower, not actually climbing the tower yet. Expect 2.2 to actually contain the coils. Expect 2.3 to actually contain the Crystal Tower.Quote:

Before getting to the actual Crystal Tower you have to pass the Labyrinth of Acient. Proably they just merged the two of them to make a massive dungeon that the will be expanding with each patch.

It is and has always been a component of the crystal tower. One must clear the labyrinth to access Eureka and the tower.
Also, if you go to the cliff southeast of the Tangle in Mor Dhona, you can clearly see the walls of the labyrinth, as they are in the OP picture from FF3JP. -

To their credit they did say they would be adding more floors in new updates so there's that, please look forward to seeing the whole thing in 2015, better stay subbed for it! -

It would help if you read the information on the lodestone. They explain exactly what is being released. Their not hiding or trying to fool us. This is just the entrance to the tower. More will be released.
