Revealing the price of land and housing 3 days before patch...why?

I'm confused as to why they wouldn't get this out to players as soon as possible so they can be prepared for it when the patch hits.

Because they are waiting to make sure there are no last minute economic changes before finalizing it. We get this same answer every time someone asks about prices.

A lot of the waiting has to deal with how much money is actually circulating in the servers. Not every server will have the same amount of gil circulating. Waiting as close as possible to the release date will be the best way to determine the prices. It would be unrealistic to put a price tag that is reachable only in high population servers and not low population servers. Also legacy servers versus newer servers and etc. There is a lot involved that people tend not to look at.

Because they probably haven't decided the prices until the last minute?

Because they can do what they want /thread.

I thought the price was gonna start at an amount and go down till someone buys the auction. Forgot what the names for this type of auction.

You could just save up until they release the price like my FC is doing.

If we don't have enough for a house, then we continue saving. If we do, great, the rest of the money will go towards supplies and etc.

Would you rather them reveal the price on the day of the patch? You're not gonna be able to buy the house on the day of the patch anyway since you need to rank up your FC first.

I have not seen a thread for the requirements to rank up a guild for FC house yet. I've seen people speculating it but not an official. If you could direct me there that would be much appreciated if there is one.

From what I can speculate though, on the pre-lease I saw something say you must purchase the permit, meaning you must use some form of currency. I would say that would be the points racking up in the FCs. I feel forcing people to rank up to purchase a free company house permit on the day of the release kind of discriminates against smaller guilds at the very last minute. Having guilds use their points and the current rank would seem pretty fair to me on the day of the release cause both small FC and large FC will be rank 5 and have accumulated quite a bit of points.

Putting a whole new rank though, thats going to cause a ton of ruckus on the smaller FC's. That's because they will have to do an extra amount of work just to purchase a small FC house. Not even a large one. Nonetheless, this is all speculation.

Also the prices of the land will drop every couple hours. The house itself will be a different story.
