I currently got 1355 points.

Currently at 3,460.

1380 atm. I wonder if the points will be for anything other than to show how someone has no life :P

Those point telling you that you live a nicely productive life in Eorzea compare to those unproductive no lifer who live outiside of it and claim they have a life and call you no life. The more point you have the more "life" you get and at the end of the day a Hero Medal with title "Productive Citizen of Eorzea" will bestow uppon you by the Twelve.

By this logic, everything in the game is pointless. They are FUN. Short and long term goals, as well as a false sense of accomplishment are what keep you playing!

That's actually a good question... I have 1525.

Only at 875.. though, I remember receiving that Dungeon III (100 instances) one and looking up what it meant.. I had to take a moment to reflect on what I was doing with my life. XD

For the people who don't see the point in achievements - why are you posting in a thread that's clearly all about how many points you have? Clearly you do care a little, or you wouldn't be here! Sometimes I wish people on this forum would adhere to the age-old 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.' Coming into a thread and telling people achievements are stupid when they've specifically made a thread about achievements and you did not need or have to click into that thread makes you look like a dumb ass - your opinion is fine, but please don't feel obliged to parade it about when it isn't constructive or helpful in any way, shape or form.

I'm currently @ 2040 - personally I love achievements, and hope to spend a bit more time obtaining some more in the coming weeks!

Well, its difficult to find your worth as a human being in a video game, because it doesn't give exact numbers.
