Why do DRG and MNK que for WP ?

They ruin a good group , I get BLM WHM and then I see DRG oR MNK and they slow down group a lot . Why not level up a PLD BLM BRD WHM for WP instead of ruining others fun ?

Couse WP is broken, and SR are just stupid. Every player should play the class they like, and not be forced to listen to People like u. And btw, why the fakk are in DF in first Place? u should make ur own grp if u want only Blm, whm, brd etc... or do ppl not wanna grp whit u and ur attitude when u try make grp?

I guess you could say the same thing that would play any job at 50 without all of their cross class skills, like when you play your white mage, and don't have eye for an eye, you are less effective than a white mage with it, so why do you hold groups back? Maybe the OP should finish leveling their classes instead of whining on the forums because they did a palace run that took 25 minutes.

I even have a BLM that destroys that place but still queue as MNK half the time.
Why?
Cause most tanks aren't geared enough and I have to hold back a lot just to not pull everything.
That's fine, it's duty finder after all.

But then there are tanks who think they're ready for a speed run but they're really not. Either I pull them all and possibly die OR I give them some more enmity time and they die anyway cause they're just not ready.

At least my monk has ramp up and its aoe is more of a cleave. I'd rather deal with that than throttling my aoe potential.
Also DRG aoe is amazing and a good monk can still do a fast run.


If I really wanted a speed run, I'd make my own group. You should do the same.

If you got blm theres not really much faster you can go in wp speed run. you nuke everything and aoe sleep your way out of half the fights. You don't even need dps if you have a white mage spaming holy.

I don't think bard has more aoe damage than dragoon. the songs don't speed you up much either.

9 minute speed runs as a Dragoon. Say that to my face not online and see what happens.

Level 50 DRG main with a level 50 MNK alt (yes, I love melee DPS lulz).

9-10 minute WP speed runs with my 4 man static. Done about the same time with both my DRG and MNK (DRG is a bit faster because he's better geared). Oh and our group doesn't have a BLM so no AOE sleep exploit to speed up run, we're just killing everything so fast.

Oh but our group can switch out our PLD for a WAR. I noticed when we do that though, we have to split up our pulls into smaller groups because WAR can't take as much mobs, so that slows us down to 12-13 minute runs, about a 30ish% increase in time. Jesus Grailer, I have no idea why WARs like you even queue for WP and ruin it for everyone else!

Its kinda funny how DRG have the 2nd highest AoE damage, only behind BLM...In a WP SP, if you have a BRD, its only for FR to boost the BLM; if they're just AoEing and not singing its better to have a DRG there (and heck, it may even be better to have the DRG anyway). Of course, for pure DPS you want 2 BLM...

Also, a good WAR can lead a <15min WP if there's a good healer behind them...maybe they can't pull EVERYTHING in the first section, but they can in the other two (as far as the doors stop you anyway). A BRD is a good idea with them, but only for Paeon...WAR really could use Invigorate...

Dragoons do pretty decent AOE, altho it hurts my eardrums. Seems like the one with the problem is you.

Op pretty much claim the reason why they need buff melee. So many discrimination.

Never expect to speed run with a DF group. Thats ridiculous, as is the thought that its "BLM or gtfo".. they didnt make the other classes for fun.

Came in to say "heaven forbid it take 1-2 more minutes of your precious time", but other posters have proved that they don't have to be slower than anyone else either :P

I can run SR as DRG almost as quick as BRD even in DF pts. did a 16 min DF pt as Drg yesterday. It's really not that big of an issue if people know what they are doing.

DRGs have very strong AOE (2nd best after BLM), they just have very high TP costs which puts a certain dps requirement to the rest of the group in order for the DRG to not run out, which most random pugs just do not meet.
If you cant speedrun with a DRG it might be you.

Best time on wp on my dragoon, 10 min 22 sec. Not sure how much faster you expetc it to take, adn so far I topped every run wp I done in overall dps.

First off I have all classes 50

If you have a static with i90, just about any setup with a BLM can get you 12-15 mins. Or less

In my experience; shouting PLD, healer, BLM will generally work ok, BRD seals the deal.
BRD provides a huge boost to BLM DPS, and guarantees PLD can keep hate. Most people are not going to put time into making a more skill strat work with strangers.

Ain't nobody got time for that

That being said; I run with any jobs in my FC, but people are obviously skilled to the plan, and MNK single target dmg will about equal out the loss in AoE. But you better be a strong BLM to handle the AoE solo.

Yeah...but unless you're really overgeared, the WHM needs to prioritize healing first. After 2 or 3 Holies, you need to go back to healing or your tank is dead (unless you're Holy spamming when everything is almost dead) And Holy is worse of a drain than Doom Spike spam :/

I will be sure to inform my FC that they should't let me run WP with them anymore. Guess they will just have to do the runs slower...

Because they want to? Don't tell others what job to play as long they do their job... Person like yourself ruin good game for everyone... =P

Why do they queue? because they don't get invited to most of the shout groups. If you are queuing for a dungeon you can't expect perfect Speed Run groups only, if you want that build the party yourself.

What a Dick. I'm sorry you still on wp and can't speed run ak... I got almost a full set of allagan war gear you could use cuz I have war and pld at 30. Loser.

I'm a newbie with little to contribute, but I'm leveling both BRD and DRG because I know BRDs are highly desired but I suspect DRGs, the class closest to my heart, will be much better positioned on the ladder after 2.1.

Problem you seem to be having is trying to que in duty finder for speed runs. Not everyone wants to play the classes that you mentioned some people like to play the game for FUN...I know this may be a strange concept for you but FFXIV is a game and it is intended to be fun not a chore. I do speed runs with pre-made FC groups on WP as a BRD but I enjoy playing that class and when I que for WP by myself I don't expect for a speed run nor should you.

My FC can consistently get 12-13 min WP speed runs with a DRG or MNK in the party. It's not as bad as you make it sound. Yes, having a melee is going to be a bit slower than having a BRD, SMN, or BLM in that spot but it's not a substantial loss in time.
