And now for something completely different..... Class Mounts

Ok so I'm kind of sick of all the whining, complaining, and overall negative topics of late and thought we could use a fun one, Class Mounts.

So Square I would like to first thank you from my four year old daughter who loves riding my big bad pally around on the "pony". That said I see a count of one to eight. I think we could use some more mounts. Its not as important as new content sure, and I'm sure I'll get a post or two in here of someone saying so. Or that square should "focus on content". But oh well, I don't think anything fun added to a game would be a total waste.

So what would be the best one for each class?

Archer -
Conjurer - Unicorn
Lancer -
Arcanist -
Marauder -
Gladiator -
Pugilist -
Thaumaturge -

Monks should ride a rock golem.

There's a huge buffalo on the lancer quest so lancers should ride a buffalo. A big one with one eye only :o

I agree with the fenrir for arc, def a dragon for lancer, maybe a stag for archer (for the irony)

I thought it was stated already that the Conj was the only one due to have a class mount? (not that I could complain if they changed their minds)

Also as far as a drake mount there was a teaser image I remember seeing of a unfinished drake with a character mounted on it sometime back in the beta...

Pugilists are like MMA fighters, they need to ride a half naked, sweaty, smexy Roegadyn.

I know I'm being a bit of a spoilsport, but I'd personally prefer that they not introduce any more non-chocobo mounts than they already have. With that in mind...

Arcanist - Wizened Chocobo
Marauder - Blood Chocobo
Gladiator - Steel Chocobo
Pugilist - Bootshine Chocobo
Conjurer - Moogled Chocobo

That would be jawsome.

For Lancer I think a big version of the Wvyrn from 11, that flies like the vet reward big eye. And for the sake of dichotomy, Thaumaturge needs a Nightmare, or the black and purple version of Unicorn found in some of the old games.

Thm should have some kind of voidsent beast, since that is the main focus of both the class and job quests.

I think the ahriman mount suits THM well. Though it's already a veteran reward...

Tanks are easy. Iron giants and the giants from Copperbell mines.

Marauder - Aurochs

Gladiator - Voidsent on all 4s

Thaumaturge - Ahriman (I know its a veteran reward)

Scholar - Massive magical book or a magic carpet

just make it a a big Demon Brick for SCH and when you get bored of it find a wall that has big hole in it and put him there

I think they did say they were not planning on doing mounts for each class, but doesn't mean they wont eventually or that it isn't a fun topic to discuss.

Archer - or maybe a Bandersnatch (like from 7 not 9.....)
Conjurer - Uni
Lancer - Drake/Wyvern/Duh.
Arcanist - Should have carbuncle slippers. Just saying.
Marauder - Adamantoise Would fit the tank thing or Behemoth why not?
Gladiator - Some type of Griffon/Manticore would be sweet! to tie in to FF ?!Griever?!
Pugilist - Tiger....that's all I got.....
Thaumaturge - Cockatrice? maybe too close to a chocobo

SCH could have a Tonberry mount.

BRDs can drive a piano.

DRG ride a drake (obviously).

SMN gets Fenrir (but only if we can still summon him =))

MNK gets an Opo-opo

WAR can get an adolescent Behemoth

PLD gets some kind of armored chocobo (different from the fighter barding)

Behemoth has already been announced as the 270 day vet reward. W00t! that means we can all get one :D

Even though I don't really play magic users I think (as already mentioned) a magic carpet would be good, or something ethereal and not 'solid' like a giant water sprite or plasmoidesque kind of thing
