We're pleased to announce the next Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XI focusing on the many exciting updates coming with Patch 2.1! This next Live Letter will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 04:00 a.m. (PST) / Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 12:00 (GMT)!

In this thread we'd like you to specifically pose questions regarding the upcoming addition of Treasure Hunt. In addition to collecting your questions in real-time via Twitter, we will also use this thread to gather your questions ahead of time and answer them during the event.

How often will these quests be available? Once a day or will they use an allowance system like leves?

Which kind of prizes we'll be able to obtain? Unique items, common items, tokens, exp, titles?

New job/class please anything even a hint lol?
What exactly are the quests that will give tomestones?
Will they be restricted?
Will they just be philosophy or mythology aswell?
And do you still think 2.1 will be ready by the 17th of December?

In the past you mentioned that fishers could fish up a treasure map, at which point we'd be expected to change to a battle class, go to where the map tells us to go, and fight.

This is kinda dumb. When I fish, I want to continue fishing. So the question:

Are there any plans to have treasure maps that point to special places to fish instead? Or extend it to all gathering, or even flip the idea so that mobs/bosses can drop "treasure" maps that point to a new special place to gather?

This thought that people absolutely do not want to fish and only do it when in between activities is frustrating.

Will those hunts generate money or will it be just another gil sink?

Will chocobos be part of the treasure hunting mechanic? If so, is there a rank requirement?

One of the biggest problems currently is that most events in the game take very little time investment to fully utilize. While accessible is one thing, it makes for lower prolonged interest in the game. Will Treasure Hunts have a moderate time-sink or will they be easy to complete in a short amount of time?

You mentioned that we will be able to get Unique/High End Crafting materials via Treasure Hunt previously... Will we also be able to get Crafting/Gathering Gear (Item Level 60, 70, 90 etc)?

Can we trade/sell them? Will they be profitable market for gathering classes?

Will there be unique rewards such as minions/vanity gear/achievements from this?

What is Treasure Hunt and how will it work?

If maps are used will it also be possible to accidentally find treasures whilst exploring? or will they only pop when you have clues or maps?

Will there be multiple step treasure hunts? i.e. you have to visit several locations and perform multiple feats but end up with a greater or multiple rewards?

What sort of rewards can we expect from completing treasure hunts?
Gil? equipment? weapons? crafting recipes? crafting materials? vanity items?

Will it be anything like Chocobo Hot & Cold or the FFXIII Chocobo Digging?

It was mentioned previously that up to 4 people can help with a treasure hunt, are there some catered to solo/duo/four-man? or are they all soloable, just easier with more people?

Will we be raising Cartography like the Ultima Online treasure hunter and will we at times fight monsters before we can claim the treasure also like UO?

Can we, please, have some worthwhile loot from the treasure chests? I am fine with it being a rare drop from the chest, but I don't want just another sidegrade to current gear. Something interesting like a haste belt, a regen ring, or a piece that will give players some options in how they gear for different situations. I think the game is missing depth in how players equip themselves, and treasure chests, if done right, could rectify that situation with relative little effort on the part of the dev team.

Can we also get peacock ore/potash/coke and the like from these or are we finding the same items that a lvl 50 miner/botanist/fisher can get.

Will they have a story arc involved?

Will they generate an income with out me spending hours working the market, in short will I be able to earn -just- gil from them?

Elaborate on the difficulty of these fights. Will we be seeing new attacks and a tougher Mob AI?
