You're having bad RNG luck. I saw pretty much nothing but axes/swords drop in my primal fights. I'm a SMN. Is it frustrating? Of course. Does complaining about my bad luck on a public forum help at all? Not even a little.

random loot is random.

Arcanist loot is 80%

Actually it's an appropriate reply, helping you understand why you might think there's 90% DoM drops.

If anything, this is a useless thread.

I like to brag (or complain) that I took it nearly 90 Garuda HM battles to simply obtain 1 Bow for myself (I only saw 1 other bow during these rounds). It's one thing to be RNG, but something about these odds just don't sit right.

I've seen 1 bow in about 120 runs from myth/weapon farming/etc. Our FC has seen MNK claws drop the last six times we've done it in a row. Random drops be random.

Complaining about random is being random.

I have a garuda wep on every class.... 90% dom doesn't happen to me.

But I've killed her probably 200 times, literally. She's the fastest way to get myth atm if you can kill her in 3:30.

Ifrit seems to drop more melee, Garuda seems to drop more magic, but that's just me.

There is also a reason why ACN weapons seem and indeed are more common. That's because ACN has two jobs and the SCH has its own book.

Repeating this unfortunate tale:

Empirically speaking, a random number generator the deals with loot distribution is completely broken unless it gives the subjected individual what she's after in 2 tries. This means that empirically speaking, random number generators that deal with loot distribution are almost always completely broken.

I can only fathom what other complaints OP has with the game. "URGH WHY DID IT NOT HQ AT 83%?!"

The likelyhood of scoring a well performed team to do Garuda in 3:30 is probably the same likelyhood of scoring a team that can do WP in 7-8 minutes.

Therefore, not the fastest. But pretty on par.

why would anyone farm primal weapons when relic is so easy to get?

For collection purpose/reason I believe. Heck, I think I have every Ifrit weapon for that very reason.

Not every one has DL armor or know enough people to carry them or pay for the kill and so are unable to do titan.

I got lucky and found a good titan party and we stomped him good but most people are not that lucky.

I have to say the RNG seems abit off i did garuda like 40-50 times to get my axe for warrior and just over 30 was the dragoons lance then i gave up and ran titan in with a crappy DL axe and AF-1 chest and some WP armor.

I've seen SMN, SCH, BRD, WAR, PLD, DRG, MNK, WHM... the only I've not seen yet, is BLM.

But, there's always a chance that it will drop all the jobs type weapons.

well if you want every piece of gear right away without challenge...what's fun about it?

In pursuing my scholar book, I went 1/20 and saw 9 summoner books in the process.

Normally they're good to have if you don't have a relic, that's the one thing I hate seeing is people Needing on a primal weapon when they already have their relic lol.

I thought it was common knowledge by now that if you want a specific drop you have to be the absolute worst player, blame all your mistakes on lag, die several times, and have the worst possible gear for the fight. To boost drop rates even further try being a complete jerk to everyone.

Yep, do a horrible job, get carried, spend half the fight dead, and then roll against the person on the same job who actually performed well.

You joke but I honestly think there's some truth to that. Took me 100 Ifrit fights to get PLD sword but in all that time it seemed like the worst player got the drops every single time. Sure were a lot of Harpoons.... Bad players are drawn to Lancers like flies are drawn to ****.

Failing 8 times in a row with Steady Hand II + Hasty Touch, that's what makes RNG look fishy. 0.2x0.2x0.2x0.2x0.2x0.2x0.2x0.2 = 0.00000256. That's 0.000256%.
There are also several strange patterns with loot drops that make me think that the RNG in this game isn't really as random as it should be.
I've had my fair share of MMOs and I know RNG can be a female dog, but in this game there just seems to be something off about it.

Actually...

I was lucky enough to get Garuda Van early enough when I was doing BLM relic. And I begged party to pass it for me and give my reasoning about doing relic. Was really happy when they were kind enough to let me have it. And I did going town with it and wiping Titan ass alot with it. lol

Personally, too many people are too ready to call "RNG". Wasn't a turn fixed lately because of the so called Rng?

Who knows what else is broken in all honesty. I agree something isn't right with half of these drops.

Well...

Back in 1.0, there's this guy who has terrible luck. No Ifrit weapon drops even after 1 year spamming the fights.

As for me... half years later and it finally dropped Ifrit cane. And I'm not really fond playing WHM. ;D

And even though my main is BLM, right till 1.0 went down and I still haven't got any BLM primal weapons at all.

And since I got Mog Bow instead, I played BRD alot more back then.

RNG rulez!!! lol

I haven't done Garuda much, about 20ish times, and I've seen a few WHM and BLM weapons drop. The majority though where all books. Yeah, i'm kinda getting the feeling that the RNG is busted. So to the people who've seen many weapons drop, please buy me a lotto ticket. :)

I have all her weapons and a couple in duplicates simply from "Greed". I maybe do the fight 10x's a week.

To the OP: How many times have you been on whm/sch and had a whm/sch that beat you on "Need"? How often do you do Garuda? Where are the 100 ss of your loot pool to back up your 90% claim?

Our last set of Garuda runs (was looking for feather mainly): PLD, DRG, DRG, BRD, PLD, SCH

As with all these (many, many) threads, chances are the OP's weapon dropped 10 mins after posting this. It's just the way it is.

RNG is RNG unless proven otherwise. So prove otherwise.

Even randomness has a pattern.

why bother with a garuda weap when you can get an HQ 2*?
