Exploiting the first-timer dungeon bonus

Problem have been resolved, it was my own confusion. Please do not reply to this thread anymore and let it sink.

In patch 2.1, dungeon experience gain is getting a boost. Together with rested and first-timer bonus, it should be even better than FATE grinding now.

Since first timer bonus seems to be dependent upon downing the final boss, it seems there's a loop-hole open to exploits:

Always leave a dungeon before the last boss until you are ready to go into the next dungeon.

To avoid this causing disruption to leveling dungeons, shouldn't the first-timer bonus be rolled into regular dungeon experience itself, and do away with this bonus completely? I would dread to see DF adopting the standard that all leveling dungeons parties are dismissed before the last boss just to maintain the first-timer bonus.

Even if the first timer bonus is modified to be a lump sum experience reward for downing the last boss, it will only encourage people to leave any DF party that doesn't show a first-timer bonus.

Anyone know the specifics of the first-timer bonus? Maybe I'm just worrying about nothing. :3

Um. I thought that you had to down the last boss to get the bonus XP. If you leave prior to downing the last boss, you don't get the bonus XP.

Nope, the bonus is applied to every single enemy you kill, and on each boss you get another bonus.

So when you normally get say 600 per trash kill, with first timer bonus that trash is worth 900 experience.
At least that's what I've been observing.

I don't have a character with a first-timer bonus dungeon available at the moment, perhaps someone could check and verify?

First time bonus is when you down the boss you get exp that's equivalent to the clearing bonus.

Took me a few reads to understand what you were saying. Are you basically saying people won't do dungeons unless there's a first timer involved?

I was under the impression that first timer bonus is something like the rested but added on top of rested.
But now I'm no longer so sure ~_~

Unless because I'm well beyond the lvl of the first 3 dungeons trying to get the damn acolyte robe my exp has been a consistent 300-400ish on trash mobs with or without a first timer.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the mob kills are rested bonus and you get the 4,500 exp as a first timer bonus only on completion.

Could be wrong though

I didn't have rested, nor food, and I can't for the love of God account for the remaining 150% bonus.

The fight is at one of the altars in Tam-Tara. No chain bonus, and killing the imps before the boss showed up, each imp gave 621 (+200%) experience.

@Skies: No it's not chain bonus, chain bonus would have showed up like this:

Look at the sheer amount of kills in a short span of time. That is your chain bonus building up. Did you take that into account?

Also the first timer bonus is a flat XP/Gil given at the end of the dungeon

The imps are apart of the sub boss they give off more exp than the normal trash despite being weaker than the trash you plow through.

As far as I'm aware, the first time bonus only does anything after you have completed the entire dungeon. The screen shot likely is showing chain experience, as others have stated.

This is your second class? Rest bonus + highest class bonus exp on lower lvl classes.

It could be completely coincidental that by the time you took that screenshot the chain bonus timer had ran out.

Take a look at the exp you were getting with the timer showing and compare it. If there is no difference then it was chain bonus. If not then you're right :)

I must be wrong then, otherwise there must be a lot of people noticing this.
