I don't think so. No one logged into my account.. it happened while I was online.
I'm scared to go to my retainer now :(
This gonna be interesting drama.
Anyone want to join?

You have been hacked. There is/was an exploit where third parties are able to gain control of your money through the retainer and or market board. Square has commented that they have fixed it, however your situation has disproved this.
As someone with 132 posts I am surprised you have not heard of this. It was posted many many times.
Hacking does not mean someone has logged into your account. Although it is ironic that the reason for the choice of the server based operation of the game was to prevent these kinds of issues considering I have seen more exploits and hacks of the packets and other aspects of this game than in any other mmo I have played.
What drama are you expecting?
I haven't been in town for weeks. <_<
Even if it's declared "safe," it's probably not.
NVM lol. Relogged and somehow got my gil back.
I submit he's lying. Come to forums, report an issue that's been reportedly handled, and he stands to gain by it with a thread that'll get attention. If you indeed have this issue, you don't create a thread in the general discussion forum. You contact SE.
Greetings,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we understand how frustrating it can be to log on and find your Gil missing. If you would please visit our Support Center by visiting http://support.na.square-enix.com, and choose FINAL FANTASY XIV you will find the Contact option at the bottom of the page. Our Representatives are available Monday through Friday, 9AM to 6PM Pacific Time, and will work to provide you with the best possible resolution. Thank you for your patience, and best wishes to you.

I am curious Furlamseere, did you read the original post? The player was afk at the market board. Meaning the player was logged into the game. He than came back from afk, still logged in, and noticed their gill was gone. Now it appeared back in their inventory after a relog so it was a display error. These copy and paste responses are getting old.
What did you expect a CM to do? Personally check his account history and resolve the problem when he posts something on the GD board?
Posts like this serve to show us the admins ARE aware and ARE seeing the issue. Do you honestly think they're not escalating it so they can be properly investigated?
This game has HOW many players and you want personal attention when they go about seeking help through improper venues?
Posts like yours only serve to discourage them from posting at all. You've contributed precisely nothing with yours, I would suggest refraining from that type of posting in the future.
Posts like yours cause CMs to do this:

For the link-wary, here's the CM's final post before quitting:

Can't help it.
Posting impassionately, they say you don't care.
Posting nothing, they say you ignore.
Posting with passion, you incite trolls.
Posting fluff, you say nonsense.
Post with what facts you have, they whittle down with rationale.
There is no win.
There is only slow degradation.
Take note. It is the first and only time you'll see someone in my position make that position.
You can be me when I'm gone.
well atleast you got your gill back :D
Damn the GM made an error! Looks like they are more human than people think!
I think sometimes GMs make the right choice when they avoid to reply. Deal with it and wait until it's solved or goodbye, one less jerk to deal with.
Don't believe that just because you pay you can do what you want, respect cannot be bought with money.

Of course most of the sentences are premade. What they can change is the first part where they talk about your bug. What can they do? Customize more? Use more synonyms?
"Oh god, I'm really sorry! How could that have ever happened!!! Here take these 1mil gil while I'll personally whip the developer in charge until your single bug is not fixed. Please don't worry."
What will not making it a copy paste change? Solve your bug faster? You'll feel safer?
Pleaseā¦
No he copies and pastes. Go check out the Bug report section of the forums and maybe you'll understand why I hate it so much. There is no form of communication and hardly anything is being fixed. Ignoring paying customers is not the way to handle this. I'm seriously seeing F2P in FF14s future and that'll be the day I'm gone.
It's not exactly getting hacked in the way most people think (people getting into one's account). It was more of a database infiltration.
Eitherway, I do hope things get solved for you and anyone else who had this happen to them. It already happened once. Didn't know it's still happening.
Bugs don't get fixed the instant they get reported. If bugs are confirmed, they get fixed in a future patch, e.g. 2.1, unless it's a super max high critical priority issue like the server crashing or a security issue in which case it gets hotfixed. Just because you make a report and dont see the bug fixed doesn't mean they're not fixing it. It is simply probably being addressed in a future patch.
And F2P is not in the cards for this game. They will shut it down before they make it f2p.
It is not so much about the copy pasta, though a lot of responses feel robotic. Its about reading and understanding the concerns/topics/insert thing here. I have seen this lack of comprehension often on these forums. It is also common to ban first and ask questions later. While humans make mistakes and I accept that, there is a lot of these going on on these forums.
At the same time, people cannot correct their mistakes if they are not aware they have made one.
But back to the copy pasta.
The first link links to the "Confirmed/Planning to Address" forum, which has not been updated since September 20th. The second links to the "Fixed" forum, whose topic titles have not been updated since September 27th, though the topics have been added to. But this last part probably deserves its own topic.Quote:
We thank you for posting your concerns regarding xxxxxxxx. I have made sure to submit all of your information to the development team and they will thoroughly investigate this matter based on your report. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee that a direct response will be posted on this thread, but I do recommend checking
Here or Here for any details regarding the development team's investigation.
Thanks for your report!
The accuracy of the copypaste is not the moderators's fault. It's a very common corporate practice that all CSRs provide as equal service as possible, so they are given no other choice but to use copypaste responses. That way, the responses are standardized and all CSRs are as equal in quality of service as possible. No doubt many of the mods hate those coypastes just as much as you do.
Copy and paste or not, he (Furlamseere)'s right. Again, what do you expect him to do from the GD forums? Personally investigate everyone who reports a bug? Get real. (Even better, relogging fixed the problem for OP.)
Should've reported it through the proper venue in the first place, as the CM directed, whether copy/paste or otherwise.
Wanna bet?Quote:
