Summoner's Enkindle Buff

Summoner's enkindle does 1144 damage after Rouse and Spur with a 5min cd Black Mage Flare does 1144 damage and it can be re casted every 30s which makes every Summoner angry every time they see it.
Either Enkindle's damage should be increased to 9,999 damage with a 5min cd or reduce the recast timer to 30s keeping the same damage to giving us a reliable nuke.

Flare has no recast timer, you will need to transpose in between, so like 8-9 seconds is reality if you want to spam Flare without a Bard or mana pots.

I know it's useless but.... the max potency of 250 of the Enkindle attack is way to weak for a 5min potency attack.
I'd be more useful for mobs if you could use it every 180sec like Spur (which is just a worse version of Rouse).

Or Raise the potency to 500 for 5mins, that'll still make Enkindle way weaker over 5mins than Garuda's normal AoE attack (900 potency over 5min).

Then again a 900 potency attack with a CD of 5mins... that'd actually match the huge animation and true power of the summons for once -__-;

But it's useless to ask for a buff, that attack will never be buffed xD

Enkindle is fine because it's balanced to be used with Rouse/Spur and the SMNs total DPS.

It's a big damage CD that is off GCD, and doesn't stop any of our other attacks.

SMN doesn't need a DPS buff, anyways.

There's just one thing that is really bugging me about Enkindle... sometimes I cast it, it goes on CD but my pet never uses it. So annoying.

I have to say I'm always pretty disappointed when I use it and the only damage done to the mobs is the same as another DoT tick

Visibly on their HP bars I mean. Then again even LBs are disappointing there sometimes.

Well, if you are doing something about it do something about Dragonfire Dive at the same time

I agree with Kevee that we do not need a damage buff overall. Honestly though I would like to see the damage of enkindle lowered but CD lowered as well. Considering we are called summoners, would be nice to have a little more interaction with the pet. Right now it seems to be very minor. I mean at this point I leave my pet on Sic except for boss fights, and I am almost to the point that I will only have him on Obey until I get the first set of dots out, after that my dots never fall off so I just let the pet recast on it's own (not quite there yet, and honestly probably won't do that until there is some sort of dot timer in game so I can be more mindful)

If you have your pet on Obey, he shouldn't be casting anything except the basic attack move. Even if you use Contagion. Either you're doing it wrong, or you're doing it wrong.

Um... what she's saying is she cast contagion manually once... afterwards she keeps all her dots up anyways.... so she doesn't need to manual contagion and let's her pet go on sic... >.>

In response to the thread, I do think that Enkindle needs a revamp. As it stands it's rather underwhelming and is more novelty than anything else. If the cooldown was shorter, I'd understand but otherwise raise the potency and/or change it's effect because it's pretty sad. Garuda is an AoE class, but her enkindle range could be larger. Ifrit is a single target class, let his enkindle drop a DoT or Debuff on an enemy. Titan's a tank, let his razed earth effect generate a good of aggro or debuff the enemy's str/int.

the biggest problem with ifrit is the stun who interfere with party stuns,ifrit is quiet bugged has a gcd higher of the declared so has less dps than garuda,if fixed yes should be the best for 1 target mobs,i used to summon ifrit untill titan rush and was very very good but the stun often interfere with silence\stuns (dont know if both or just on stun) and for example in coil is completely unusefull

Given Enkindle is a once per encounter skill I wish it was more useful. I find myself often forgetting to use it in the process of casting/spreading DoTs because it isn't even *that* much stronger than my just hitting Ruin/Ruin II a few more times while I run around (and it doesn't go off on-click but when your pet has a free action)
