Grand Companies lacking Granduer

I know everything we do is tied to our Grand Company, as much as it is to our free company.

We get seals for Fates and get points on our Free companies, but can we actually look forward to some Grand Company events? I play with my friend and we all joined the same grand company but there is no Grand company events.

Maybe a Quest line that explains the Lore of each Grand Company more in depth, that is not to be completed alone like most of the main quest. Or multilayer fates (like dark devices, svara) related to Grand Companies where we can see the generals fighting in them. Dungeons where we have NPC's fighting along with us where we get bonus rewards based on how we help our company out. Escort Missions and rescue missions. Raids onto Garlean strongholds. Can we get more from Signet, maybe more seals if we keep it active, I would like to get seals from completing dungeons like I do in Fates. Especially those dungeons related to ranking up in grand company.

Although some might disagree on this last part but can I get a sense of belonging here? Maybe quests/fates instances (like guildhest) available to each grand company (or maybe nation)? Where you need to be part of the grand company to join it, that way we can meet and play with other people from Immortal Flames. This might also be an incentive for people to try different Grand Companies through out the game versus staying in the same one through out their game lifetime.

I know the game is relatively young but its just somethings I would like to see. Anyone else feel the same?

Yeah, GC don't serve much role in game. It would be nice to have more GC quests and maybe even be able to interact with the GC leaders. After you choose which GC to join you never see them again

This is kinda sad because in 1.0 there was much more Grand Company focus, now you get your chocobo then forget about them til you need to spend seals. You had to actually do quests which had you interact with the company and had lots of story involved in order to rank up, now you just throw seals at them and clear a few dungeons

That is very sad. I feel like there is no point to being in the Grand company besides being able to buy gear with seals. It should have just been another weaker Tomestone that you get from quests/fates at this rate. I'd like to be able to wear my Flames uniform and go out to battle and be like, yeah, I'm with the Flames, and I fight along side my Flame brethren. At least your free company gives you company actions. I would like some Grand Company actions, that people donate seals to and when enough people donate those actions become available for like a week. For example 1,000,000 seals buys exp bonus for all Flames while you have signet. Something along those lines.

During 1.0 the Grand Company Foundation Day event was every october and the 7th umbral storyline was the Grand Company missions.
It is really sad that there are now no real missions and that the seals are the only thing that is needed to rank up.

They should do it like in 1.0. Give the Grand Companies a new storyline and do it that you don't just need seals to rank up, but also need to finish a specific mission to be able to rank up and to unlock the next part of the GC storyline.

I want them to keep the new 2.0 GC switching requirements in place for GCs, but create new incentives for ranking up all three.

You could embody the spirit of the Eorzean Alliance, and reap unique benefits for having personally aided all three of them.

the Grand Companies pretty much had little to do, due to the pseudo-Cold War that set in between the Alliance and the the Garlean Empire. Hence they were kind of roped in as ad hoc police forces of sorts in their respective nations. No wonder you can't even join them until you defeat Ifrit - they're not even recruiting simply because of their irrelevance post Calamity.

Things were very different five years before though when they had a big red moon hanging overhead like the Sword of Damocles and Nael's VIIth Legion beating down their door literally - Eorzea literally was fighting for it's very survival, and the only way to fill desperate and urgent manpower gaps was through the establishment of the Grand Companies to provide a quick and easy way of bringing in adventurers into the fold.

I agree though that some kind of story-based quest line revolving around your chosen Grand Company would definitely add some relevance to them, something like FFXI in Wings of the Goddess where you could do missions for your chosen Allied force that helped with the current state of events in the Crystal War (ala, Campaign).

It would definitely help bring the Grand Companies back into the limelight instead of a brief moment of importance and then put on a bus for the rest of the game.

I hope they do more with this. I am running out of things to buy with seals, and I don't see a point to change grand companies besides to buy more things with seals...

Hopefully in future expansions they could have more role/quests. Kinda like the diff. Class/job quests.

As for incentives perhaps they can have boosts like the fc does. For ex: if you're with the twin adders you'll get an xp% boost while in gridania. Lancers,archers, and healers gets boosts as well since thats where the guilds are located.

Perhaps a "patriot" achieve/ award for joining the same gc of your starting city and get the highest ranknin that gc
