I am just having the worst luck getting a weapon, if i got mostly darklight would i be able to do titan?
Of course you can. Its possible to clear it in artifact armor and people definitely beat it in ilvl 60. Darklight will help you greatly.
Just find you a capable party, memorize Titans patterns and you'll be good to go.
Absolutely. The most important thing in Titan as a DPS is to not die and to continue dealing constant damage (survival is good, but you still need to DPS the thing while you're doing it).
As Nullie said, memorize the pattern and you'll be good to go. Also, note that you can eat one plume (weight of the land) and still live. So if you get surrounded by them and don't see a way out, don't panic, just make sure you don't stand in overlapping ones.
Edit: Derp, just realized that this is in the healer section, ie, you're not asking about DPSing it.
Anyway, the answer remains yes. I rode through Titan on my Ifrit's cane personally.
You surely can. I did it as blm with darklight staff and full DL and had no problem.
Yes.

Don't see why not, so long as you have 3.2k HP in party, the rest is up to your own personal skill, if you find your HP lacking trying raid healing then single target heal yourself before trying to top others off. Did it as a 3.2k Whitemage ilvl 55 Weapons, Half Strategos gear.
You can do anything in this game with level 1 weapon and armor.
The real question is, should you?
Farming up a Garuda weapon can be an incredible headache considering the time it takes to do so. You might be lucky but chances are it will take about a dozen successful runs to get one.
On the other hand, unless you believe your skill at healing to be perfect or near perfect, better equipment makes up for a deficiency in skill. It also buffers against mistakes (or our favorite friend, the netcode delay).
So, what we should be asking in this instance (and really, any instance where we debate gearing up) is, are we more willing to sink time to gear up, or deal with the (anywhere between minuscule to moderate) chance that we are on the hook for a failed run?
Yup :) I did with...full AF dark light sash and sanguine scepter as a blm.
As long as you can heal your party with more than 3.2k HP in titan fight, you should have no problems what weapon you're using as a healer. As a DPS though, yes, you need moar attack with palz to get through the heart phase. But healers have it pretty easy when it comes to gear and fights.
Nah Twinny doesn't hit hard, well not as hard and constant like Twin Dreadnaughts in Turn 4. It's just Death Sentence healing received debuff gives the illusion of hitting hard. And she hits awfully slow... I'm talking tanks capable of clip casting Stoneskin slow level of slow. And enrage timer isn't really a problem, since if you can't kill Odd numbered Conflagrations, wipe Snakes before Twintania arrives that is pretty much the pre-enrage of enrage, well if people are dying post Twister Phase then well... I guess Enrage?
like the others said you can do it work almost any weapon but I usually make it part of my relic progression to get a primal weapon for my job first
having enough hp's to survive the phase 5 stomps should be your main concern. one piece of equipment not being the best isnt going to make or break you. you need something like 3300hp to comfortably survive stomps as a healer. you could probably do it with less if you are on top of dodges and pre-heals, learn the rotation and practice alot. healing titan is no joke, its definitely the hardest role to play in the fight.
People in Sargantas have cleared it in nothing but relics and bathing suits. Skill ≠ Gear.
As others have said, it's all about how well you (and your party) know the fight and properly dodge + playing well. I learned the fight as SCH, but used the HQ 55 crafted weapon for WHM. Half the party was horrible fail on multiple levels (two WAR tanks for some stupid reason and no, it wasn't DF'd) - I had to visit the Chiropractor afterwards due to a sudden flare up of a chronic condition.
The two DRGs must've had a bet going to see who could die more on a single pull because they kept trying to top their previous record each attempt. I think the SMN was trying to get in on it near the end and even the previous MT (made them swap when he failed at dodging line bombs repeatedly) managed to get himself killed a few times by standing in far too much of the bad.
So if a 55 weapon can get through that apocalypse of a party, then you should do just fine using one. Experience with the fight/his ability rotation is what you really need to beat Titan though, as at certain points making the wrong decision can be fatal no matter how good/bad your gear is.
rolled a bard recently, cleared relic quest's Titan HM last night with i55 HQ in a pug/DF
This topic makes me really happy. I don't understand why in game everybody keeps telling me there's absolutely no way I can enter Titan HM without at minimum Garuda weapon, that with my Ifrit one there's no chance, while here on forum I keep reading of people doing it with Darklight weapon and such normally. And since Garuda gives a wand, I was desperate if I should farm that+DL shield or farm for the crafted HQ...and counting I'm terribly broke and there's still other gear I much need to farm rather...
i broke 130 dps as a mnk with i55 weapon on titan, and lived until our tank died (because of lack of healing) its very possible with an i55 weapon........sadly, i beat some of the dps that had better weapons
parse was done using ffxivapp (yeah i know its not 100% accurate) but i rarely do dots, so its not that far off
Extra DPS always help, but most would say min is a GC weapon - afterall Titan Heart is a DPS race.
Doesn't make sense to need Garuda weapon to clear Titan, it's like asking you to play RNG with Garuda, after you got the weapon it immediately becomes useless after Titan.
And I'm damn bad with Primal's RNG. So far I have never gotten any drops that I could use, lol.
Inclusive of coil. :(
That's what I always said, what's the point of investing so much on a weapon you'll only have to use once (apart from fails)?
And I've been very lucky with Ifrit, dropped staff at my second run, but otherwise I'm terribly unlucky so I don't like testing the RNG gods...
I got my WHM relic with AF gear and lvl.52 staff. so yeah you can do it. Im just like you. never got luck with drop lol.
What I suggest to most people is to do Wanderer's Palace runs until you get your Darklight Weapon off the Tonberry King.
The DL weapons are equal or superior to the GC50s, and by the time you get the drop you'll have enough tomes for a couple pieces of Darklight Armor, and the rest of your slots filled with the lvl55 WP equipment. That is adequate for the single Titan clear.
If you are in a rush for whatever reason, go in your greens and spec vit it doesn't matter as long as you can live through p5 temult and have your party healed. If you want to do it with some consideration to the people you will be grouped with, farm Garuda and get as much to full Darklight as you can. For the 2 relics I have I always hated seeing a guy in AK+GC, not because it is not doable but just because it shows that he didn't want to put any work into it. These people also come close or do die instantly to one plume putting a lot of stress on the healers.
And after saying all this...I did Garuda for completion and dropped the wale right away. Duh. Which now leads to the question, to make it of any use I have to farm DL shield, right?
