Coil Congestion Issues

So, entering coil has been a major problem for our static for the last few weeks. Tuesday is one of the best nights for us to get together but we are seeing repeated difficulties in entering the zone. Ranging from half an hour delays to what happened last night, which was our static sitting around for nearly an hour attempting to enter coil. Now, Tuesday is one of the busiest nights of the week on Tonberry due to the cap being reset on Monday night. While I understand this places unusual strain on the servers, it should be expected, and simply not being able to enter at all has wasted a lot of our time over the past few weeks.

I'm not sure if:
- The zone is technically full
- The servers handling coil entry are simply overloaded and dropping entry requests

So my questions is as follows:
- If we are to expect this congestion for events in the future, Are there plans to implement a queue system for entering Bahamut's coil and other events so entry becomes fair?

As it stands at the moment the most reliable way to get into coil in one of these busy periods is to just keep spamming the entrance. I would like to see a queue system which ensures those groups that have been waiting the longest get to enter first.

nope not experiencing this at all. Get right in first try and cactuar is a pretty high population server

I've never seen this and I'm on Hyperion, a very populated legacy world. We enter coil on monday right at prime time so...

No problems here, Tuesday prime time.

Yeah I suspected that it might not be widespread, it's almost to the point where Tuesday nights should be avoided on Tonberry for running coil.

Tonberry is probably quite unique because it's the unofficial "Oceania" server, not only do we have the usual JP focused peak time, but there are countless English speaking players playing in the same timezone/during the same peak hours.

If the idea is to keep coil out of DF for the long term, I hope that it can be re-considered so that we could at least use DF with a full group, and then be placed in the "reserving instance" queue.

Just FYI, Coil runs on the instance servers (e.g. used by duty finder) not within your server even though you can only form groups on your server. It doesn't matter which server on a given datacenter you're on (but it does matter which data center).

Hyperion is one of the most crowded NA datacenter servers and ive never had difficulty entering any coil turn.

Yeah, i forgot about that bit. Though, speaking of that, is there a list of which servers are grouped together?

Since the instance servers serve "sub-groups" of JP/NA groups, it's possible that Tonberry belongs to a group that has exhausted its instance server. Since most people here play on the NA Group, it's hard to find others experiencing the same problem.

Seconding it's a Tonberry issue. I've never experienced it personally but I hear it's wide spread on our server.

Also experiencing it in Tonberry, have to keep on retrying to enter for over 1 hour plus.
Trying to enter will get one of the following outcome on Tuesday night:
1. Nothing happen, no error message
2. One of the team member is not eligible to enter error message

It happen on masamune too, n it's jp datacenter. The group we in are very high populated at the timezone. If I remember correctly masamune, tonberry n 2 other share the same instance server.

It happen to my raid too. Last week we have to spam enter for 90 minutes. :\

Yeah it's an issue on Tonberry from about 9-10pm onwards +10 GMT. It must be the JP instance group that is overloaded at that time, since in jp time that is right on peak.

We started raiding earlier and never encountered it again, you can also just raid another day.
