Patch 2.1 Failing soon

Yes i know what i put as a title. But as a mmo player big patches seem to always fail lets look at defiance. There 2.0 patch was big and the game fail and never worked again the right way. lets look at DCUO and there GU25. Big patch and it too fail. So as i sit here thinking why cant you just give us a little at a time and over a weeks time put parts of the patch in, not all at once. But over time. t will be easy on you and the players i think.

Not all at once. i just have a bad feeling that 2.1 will fail from past games and there big patches.

Yeah so every day I try and play there is maintenance no thanks. Push it out in one update so I only have to suffer the maintenance during my play time once. Thanks.

BUT! What's the difference between what they are doing and what your proposing? If what you say is true and the game would be down for a week to do it all at once (which I find hard to believe) then you still get all the content in a weeks time anyway.. Not everyone plays every day of the week anyway so its almost the same thing. Anyway, releasing small bits of content over time I'm afraid isn't going to be enough to keep the population's attention. If they can keep this amount of content release on a schedule this consistent, then I think the game will continue to go strong. If they just do everything peace-meal then it might not be enough of an impact. To be honest though I'm not familiar with big game patches for MMO's, but I think I'm going to find myself taking a week minimum to get around to all the new content regardless!

There was nothing wrong with his use of there and it shouldn't have been their, so there you clown. Furthermore if you were to propose something it is "you're proposing" as in "you are", not "your" as you wrote. What? 'Their' is possessive. It's their patch.. If you refer to Toki's link, it explains it quite clear. (Because its their fucking patch). Indeed I made a mistake as well, but if I wanted to take it to a disrespectful level that you seem so comfortable with, I would have re-written his entire post, its riddled with grammatical errors. I wasn't correcting to be judgmental, I was just hoping to help out. There have been many threads speculating the fall of the game and the failing of patches before they have even been implemented.
With yet another similar thread coming up speculating the fail of something without proper food for debate people will retort to childish responses.

I'm not sure what you are expecting, but a mass exodus like the one that happened in the first weeks of 1.0 of this game is not going to happen again any time soon.

And to be fair, your post is far from anything worthy of debate.

Reading this thread made my brain hurt. Trying to understand you guys is like trying to have a logical debate with a microwaved gummy bear. Anyways, other games have also done patches very well. Look at WoW for instance. While it will not be perfect (cause there is NEVER perfect code) so expect bugs and give them a week or so to sort through them. While it's painful to undergo maintenance, suck it up. The developers own nothing to you and you play their game because you choose to. Stop being the retarded new MMO generation that is the current meta.

Which is why I spoke to your point after my small grammatical comment. It's the folks below me here that remind me why I haven't posted in the forums since Beta, very rare will you be able to find an intelligent conversation/discussion about the OP without it being derailed by people like that. Anyway, apologies for your thread being derailed, I feel somewhat responsible. See you on Malboro when 2.1 hits!

Edit; didn't see the posts by Shirai or Lix till now, cheers for actually responding to the OP. I would have to agree with Lix though, it seems a lot of people are getting impatient when we have only had a solid couple months to play the release build. Albeit some content at the moment (grinding new 50's) seems a bit tedious/repetitive, but that's because some of the more vocal parts of the player base are screaming through the content. I think SE is releasing a good amount of content/changes at a pretty reasonable time imo. But like I said earlier, i'm no MMO veteran so I unfortunately cant make any references to other games.

Defiance was shut from day 1 though. So no.

Ppl rush on these posts and don't spell check...its not a memo for your company or a paper for college so who cares. 2nd I would find more validity in the OP's statement if the games he had mentioned weren't "fail" games to begin with...Now if he had stated WoW or something then maybe...but wow has had its issues in big patches and get is straightened out quickly...they had the same problems as this game did at first..you just have to roll with the punches.

Wow thanks I read this and changed it. Then after reading it I was thinking Wtf. I know I post late night right before bed but "there" - 3 (usu. there is/are) used to indicate the fact or existence of something. Not their possessive. Thanks for the defence though, but if I did make an error I would have liked to know about it.

Anyway, SE has ran another successful MMO for over 10 years now. I think they have a better idea of what they need to do instead of a random forum-goer.
