lol last night all i can think about after seeing this is the bad things like:

Yoshis/Dev team thoughts on the Titan/Primal fights:

*Lagg what lagg i play near a server theres no lagg so lets add more of the mechanics i read about that kills laggers!
As interesting as the fights looks they really are a big **** You to players who have complained about lagg & nothings been done.

* LB2/LB3 for tanks is usless & tested in hard mode & does not save partys from ANYTHING except small, medium'ish damage hits...... so lets add more of the same stuff that it doesnt block!

* people have been complaining since 1.0 about 1 hit K.O. Mechanics & to get rid of them so lets add MORE & MORE & MORE..

* My titan Egi looks better than your players pathetic Titan Egi

I understand why you wouldn't want content that is nearly impossible with lag issues, but that is no reason to be selfish. There are more people who don't have regular problems with lag (at least on my server) than people that do. Making toned down content that is boringly easy for people without lag issues just ruins that content for even more people.

Would love to see your source. Maybe your server is more populated with NA players, but you can't make a generalisation based off one server out of 60+.

Doesn't seem to be the case judging by the numbers on this forum (only bigger sub-group than people with lag is people asking for FFXI-2).

I thought it was fairly well known that only a small percentage of the population posts on the forums. Add in that people in general don't comment on things that are working for them, if they did you'd see three "Titan success!" posts for every "I can't beat Titan" posts, and it's safe to assume that most players have a tolerable level of lag.

It truly is a case by case situation when it comes to people with lag. I personally play with people from England and Russia on an NA server and they don't have issues, but people I PUG with from America routinely blame lag for every death. It's a tough decision on whether or not you should believe every "It was lag" statement you hear as it's an easy copout when you make a mistake. But that is beside the point. There are still more people with a tolerable level of lag than without.

While everything you say is probably true—said so myself, I share most of your opinions here—that last statement of yours (in bold) still isn't proved.

That forums population is much lower than in-game population (it's usually less than 1%), and by no means representative I agree, still doesn't mean that when a huge proportion of these posters seem to share an issue, or an opinion, it's not potentially true to some comparable degree in the larger population. I can't say that it is, but likewise can't conclude otherwise. My personal experience on Ragnarok is that more people seemed to have troubles with lag than not, most FC's I know use VPN's to alleviate the matter (or they just couldn't play properly). Most people I've seen quit playing did so because of the lag, much more often that because they didn't like the game. That, also, is a trend not usual for MMO's, enough for it to be considered.

Furthermore on other forums, on popular gaming websites, the issue is often the biggest topic everywhere. Most claim to have issues, few claim otherwise. Again, not necessarily representative, still a trend that appears quite clearly. If so many people didn't have any issue, and lag was a minority problem, and if other topics are any indication, these lag topics wouldn't get so big, and so unanimous in their claims.

So unless we see numbers, that statement of yours is just opinion. Which is fine, you're entitled to that; but it's by no means fact.

The biggest subsection of the population probably gets hit by AEs and do not even know that they're lagged because they're not good enough to think they should've dodged that.

If you start out good enough to not notice the lag you're already way in the 1% of the skill level, though I question how anyone can even be in the 1% of the skill level and not notice that the timing for all dodging abilities are fundamentally different in this game than other games. The only way that's possible is if someone just has incredible reflexes while simultaneously having literally no idea how the game actually works. Anyone with a remote understanding of how a standard MMORPG works will quickly realize the timing on this game is simply off, regardless of whether they can avoid the AEs or not.

I do agree.
(But only if they make the Extreme quests so you dont need to complete it to go onto the next extreme primal because even with the "issues" you still can do certain ones (HM) but not certain others (HM), because then they are locking players out by there own games faults!)

Odin Server here, My Whole FC has nearly no lag problems killing Titan Easialy and without problems normaly people are just not fast enough to evade.

And seeing that screenshot makes it so easy to doge you can just stand on the blue line and you won't get hit easy as that. and since they are only crossing at the start. ... well doesn't seem so hard anymore

If u get hit by something stahp blame it on lag. Ur reaction time just sucks then

Personally I think it should be between 1.5hhh and 2hhh.

I can tell that alot of the people who complains about lag does not know that they can use an ability to force the server to update their position. Since I started to do that the only times I got hit was when my reaction times where indeed to slow due to me playing like a derpaherp :P

The longest and most posted in threads on these forums address lag. One of the topics in the live letter was addressing latency and server update timings, you really think that "most" people don't experience these issues. Personally my latency during peak times is around 50ms, but that doesn't stop those momentary spikes where stuff just stops happening for 2~3 seconds. If your one of the few that hasn't experienced any of those things than good on, but don't assume that your in the majority and not the minority there.

That said.

I'm among those looking forward to eating new Titan's punches, and getting annoyed by new Garuda sisters, and wondering why Ifrit is still boring and a stunfest (gods I hope I'm wrong here.)

And gods is the 1000 char limit annoying as all get out, who's idea was that, and for that matter the char limit in in-game mail, what's that about, how is mail useful with 200 chars. Saying "Here's that website: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/121627-Titan-Extreme-Mode?p=1592294&posted=1#post1592294" gets cut short ...

I got helped doing Titan HM two times.
Being helped, I feel like repaying the favor, and help whoever I can, with whatever I can.

Also, if they're paying, you're not helping.

Because it's unfair and mean to ask someone incapable of doing content to pay for it! Just because they aren't skilled enough doesn't mean they shouldn't get it for free like everyone else.

Helping for free would actually mean helping, offering hints, tips, tricks, teaching, etc. with or without winning, or with multiple attempts to actually get the win.

Carrying is saying, "Just go off the side so you don't get in our way." This is typically what is being paid for, and it's kind of sad since it "helps" under-geared/under-skilled players get relics who later go on to do other things claiming that relic/+1 but being dressed in AF/WP/AK/DL mix cause they bought the win.

On the other hand there's those that just buy them for collections, alts that they don't actually play those jobs, so they can say I have every relic. Meaning they can do it on some jobs, probably all if they really tried, but just don't want to put in the time/energy on all their alts.

Kinda think you guys are being a bit ridiculous about paid wins. People who pay for wins are typically encouraged to actually try their best in the fight and not told just to go off and kill themselves. A decent portion of them actually do pretty well in the fights up until they get killed by a mechanic.

The only real difference between carrying for free and carrying on a paid run is that when you're doing it for free the person you're helping is generally expected to not drag the group down and contribute to the fight's success. In fact a less skilled player probably faces less hostility/frustration from the group if they make a mistake in a paid run because their contribution is more of a bonus.

I'm trying to build a house. Damn, idk how to do it. I tried to do it myself a few times but it didn't work out. Gonna ask for some help. Hmm they are gonna charge me? It's not fair, they can do it so easy. I can't do it myself and need their help but why are they charging me?

Just how life works. Pay for something you otherwise can't accomplish with your own merits. not to say you can't do it, but everyone is different. Don't hate people who pay for Titan nor the people who charge.

You could pay someone else to do it but the you have to deal with the crippling shame that you don't deserve your house cause you didn't build it yourself. Or you know, go the f*** to sleep in your bed, cause who cares?

I haven't seen the video but that picture shows 3. Being that one is more faded looking I think it'll function the same as hard mode Ifrit's rushes. One after the other.

If we're following the pattern we have right now, Ifrit extreme should be alot harder than this.

Normal/story mode=Garuda
Hard=Titan

or atleast I hope it will be.. but I heard it won't be like that :( Ifrit needs some lovin' :P
