Undisclosed 2.1 information thread.

Hi, I'd like to share some information about 2.1 that was not officially disclosed in the live letter. This info is mostly surmised from multiple hints/clues and old beta information. If you have more to add please post it!!

Treasure Hunting:

Treasure Hunting is also known as Chocobo digging. You will harvest items with your chocobo. it is mainly a farming activity. All classes will be able to participate in various ways. Gatherers seem they will be getting the most content relating to this.

There are 3 gatherer instances: Chocobo Mine, Chocobo Lagoon, and Chocobo Forest

There will also be chocobo levequests for combat classes

The main purpose of this activity is to gather materials. You will also get Chocobo Points (Beta name) for participating.

Chocobo points can buy several items of note :
Astral Vision 100,000 CP = Allows you to gather Astral materials in chocobo digging
Adamn ingot 50,000 CP = Used for the new relic weapon.

Next we have the new AF gear and relic weapon. New af gear with an item level of 95 is going to be added. It is the same model as the current 90 AF except recolored. Also a 95 relic weapon is being added. You can see the bard with both of these equipped in the live letter

It is unknown how these will be obtained, but the new relic weapon will most likely come from both treasure hunting and the new extreme mode primals through a quest.

The new 95 AF armor has no info on it. It will probably be from mythology but could potentially be a quested upgrade of the current 90 af armor. Here is the bard armor (Black and red) and the new bard relic (Black and silver)

Potentially, the armor is the only piece of info I posted that doesn't have multiple previous hints, however it makes sense with allagan also being increased to 95. The 95 relic is definitely happening in 2.1 though. Please look forward to it!

where did u find the treasur hunting info having to do with chocobos? the old info was it was ment to come with fishing to make it more profitable. You fish up a map and than can get other ppl to help find the loot.

*sigh* The Armor AND the Bow Yoshi has in that image is GM equipment. It's not something we will ever have. Also, very unlikely that Relic +1 will bump to ilvl 95. Will likely stay as it is so you can't get a comparable Weapon to what Twintania drops with far less effort.

There is no new AF/Relic gear being added. *bursts bubble* At least not in 2.1

If it's call CP(Chocobo Points), wouldn't that get confused with CP(Crafting Points)?

Well, I think most of what the OP posted about is wishful thinking, to some degree.

Yoshida mentions that Treasure Hunt will be in 2.1 and in fact they are going to go into more detail on that in the next Live Letter on December 14th.
As to what it actually involves.. well.. I guess we will find out. But it does appear to be primarily aimed at crafting/gathering classes or so it seems, from the sounds of things.

All of this "Chocobo" stuff, there has been no word of. Personally I am totally for alternative new ways to level up my Chocobo companion, and the ideas sound cool. There just hasn't been any word or even mention of this as of yet, for ARR.

Added: As far AF2, yes we will be getting some, but likely not anytime soon as all that has been shown (on the previous Live Letter) was concept art.

While disclosing that Allagan weapons will be raised to ilvl95 (in order to raise them above Relic+1), he also specifically said that this will be the only instance where the ilvl ceiling is being pushed higher in 2.1.
