Yeaaaaaa.... at this point I think I rather jump off a bridge then to pug this fight.

And what about Ifrit with his more spread out nails and the arena wide plume with no safe area? Titan with clones just makes me want to cry

Very, very excited for this (Hard? Extreme?) Mode Ultima fight. Definitely looking forward to seeing what he drops.

Ifrit looks pretty much exactly the same as 1.0's extreme. 13 nails and all. Originally you had to break his horns using certain skills to prevent stuff like arena wide plumes and the unavoidable 4 dashes at the same time scenario. The hardest part of the fight was getting the 13 nails down in time, after that it was pretty much plain sailing.

The fights do look kinda fun and we'll be giving them a good old go (especially as CT is kinda meh now with it's DF only thing).

Actually, first thing I will do once patch goes live is unlock the fight and solo duty finder it just to see how bad it goes.

I know! Titan already has a known cant lag issue with normal and hard just imagine the amount of people who get slided off because they had a lag spike while trying to avoid the double if not triple landslide/bombs or landslide/plume combo

If extreme titan keeps the same pattern + its new additions, landslide will still be predictable. So as long as you're properly baiting landslide, you're still effectively dealing with 1. So hopefully in extreme mode, A) there is no pattern and B) The branching landslides hopefully will not be a 45 degree angle off the middle landslide and instead will pick 3 random players.

Edit: I think I see blue circle indicators for which people he is targeting for landslide. Pure speculation though.

they didnt decide yet, if it's going to be Ultima HM, or Extreme. maybe they should just make it Ultima mode...Cause story wise, it's really OP, content-wise...totally gimp.
And the more fights, the hardcores can bash their heads at, the less they will whine about not having anything to do.

I'm not sure if those blue circles are target markers, however there is also one thing that is somewhat random (as far as targeting goes). They are a different color than HM, but there are plumes as well. Regardless, HM Titan has been one of the only fun fights in the game for me and I can't wait for extreme ^_^ I agree it would be better if it were completely randomized however I don't think SE will go that far.

There is going to be a pattern, people seem to forget that even though this is an MMO it's still a final fantasy game, which would mean there is going to be tactics/patterns to boss fights in which you need to know or figure out.

I bet the clones randomly landslide people, too. Possibly mini plumes. It's like fighting 3 Titans at once!

The only reason Titan HM is any kind of difficult at all is because the game is so ridiculously laggy you get hit by Landslides, Weights and bombs you aren't even anywhere near.

Can't wait for ultima, I enjoyed the fight but with my current gear its not worth a 20min dungeon run that WP rewards more for in less time

What does it even drop? I hope it's stuff that's worth it....

And I do hope that we don't need to use extreme modes for quests like say our relic... I'm pretty sure at this point my ps3 can't handle it.

Q57: You can obtain weapons for the hard mode primal battles, but what kind of rewards will there be for the extreme-modes?

A57: When you clear extreme-modes for Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan, you'll be able to obtain an item level 90 weapon as a reward. We've prepared weapons for each job.

Im sure PS3 can handle it as i have no problems doing Titan HM on it

Mine is there older generation though... I already changed out the hd three times in a 5 year life span. Switching to a new hd seem to do the trick but I keep thinking it's something else because that's a lot in 5 years. Just a few days ago it crashed on me at AK where graphs where black and white and I was underneath the map. Screen froze and everything. Don't think I wanna change out the hd again... idk how it is for the super slim though. Debating if I should just get that instead because right now I can't even download the patches with out freezing in the middle. I was lucky enough to be able to install the game again but not lucky enough for it to do the rest.

Some stuff people have deduced from the extreme primal trailers (all guesswork and speculations obviously):

Ifrit:
- Eruptions can't be stunned (was obvious that was going to happen though)
- Summons 8 nails at some point, 7 around the outer edge and 1 huge one the middle.
- Safe area of plumes isn't always under Ifrit, it moves around the arena so tank will have to move him around a fair bit and learn where they appear.
- Does 4 dashes, sometimes simultaneously (could be like 1.0 and you have to break his horns or w/e to stop this).

Garuda (Video was pretty short for this one):
- Tornado patterns are different.
- Uses Aerial Blast every more than once (maybe).
- Sisters aren't one green and one red, can be both green or both red giving either huge regen or huge damage boost.

Titan:
- Uses Geocrush throughout the fight so the arena over time becomes absolutely tiny, by the later stages it's just the orange patch in the middle. Guessing if you take too long it just becomes impossible.
- Tumullt also has knockback, so you have to keep running towards the centre when it's going off.
- He jails 2 people at once, but you have to use the jail to block a new stomp type move or you get knocked off.
- Landslide goes in 4 directions at once, 1 directed at the tank and then a 3-way spread towards other party members.
- He summons Titan-Egis and they use enkindle to do AoE damage and Razed Earth (big patch of crap that stays there for a long time).

Best Thing:
You can queue for these using the duty finder. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!

Doesn't matter won't be coming until 2.2. sigh.
