To Yoshi-P, Why is the Vanity System Not Coming for 2.1?

Even during development, during your interviews the vanity system was apparently done. Why wait till the second patch or later to put it in?

Personally I would rather have vanity slots in 2.1 than pvp, or some of the other features coming in the patch like housing. I hate the look of the darklight tank armour, like the majority of the tanking community does, but will have to wear it in order to tank for the primals and eventually, coil.

I thank you for addressing many issues on the forums a couple days ago, but the lack of a vanity system is just as much of a concern than our unexpected wait for 2.1, or the need to rebalance of the warrior class (which i'm very thankful and excited for as my alt is a warrior).

Can you please address this on november 22 when taking questions from the forums?

A vanity system is the only way to increase variety and diversity in the visuals of the players. Right now most high level players of each class look exactly the same.

I love this game and excited for 2.1, but fail to understand why the vanity system is planned for later than sooner.

As much as I am opposed of this, it does sound interesting. It will give crafters something more to do, Make them feel like their 50 Craft ( or working on it) wasn't all to waste. I like that they are adding things for the crafters. ( And I'm not even a crafter)

At the very least, the aesthetician will be. Yoshi mentioned 'Templates' from Crafters for our gear to 'change' them. I hope that doesn't mean they went with a WoW style Transmogrification system instead of Rifts Wardrobe function.

Personally I'm glad they spent time working on REAL content for 2.1 and not on a vanity system.

Who cares if you can look different if there's nothing new to do!

OP just to let you know, PVP is content and as such is on prio, vanity or anything vanity for that matter isnt content, its after the fact so to speak, as such, with any devs, these things have a very low prio on the development and implementation, just cos you dont like PVP, doesnt invalidate it as actual content.

I was refering to an old dev post where seems the vanity equip (not aesthetician) would made in time for 21. It's quite old so i can't find it. The recent news for Yoshi on templates it's something he plan to do in the future for crafters, and have nothing to do with this subject

Seeing how much time Gw2 Players put into the game just for look, I would say Vanity is content in itself.

I know the quote you're referring to. Unfortunately the delay for 2.1 might have pushed it back.
(Recently) They haven't said said yes it will be, and AFAIK haven't said no it won't be. Guess we'll know more after the Letter i guess.

Hopefully it'll come after 2.1 but before 2.2.

I think the pattern paper means a feature in which changes the looks of one gear with stats to another gears looks. If that’s not the case there is no purpose to this pattern paper feature...
If the meaning of the answer is simply saying “ it’s not possible to add a window specifically for looks only”, but the feature in which it changes the looks of the gear is possible, then it’s good.

This is planned as a feature which copies the looks of one gear on another gear.

The one Harvest9 requested, where he/she wanted another gear window along with regular gear isn’t the case. Also let me say that there will be some sort of restrictions on what can be copied.

I find it good that it is a feature for crafters, give them something to do ^^

It'll come when it comes - It has always been said: "A type of vanity system will come after launch." Meaning it could be 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 or so on, they do kind of have larger concern atm so it's no surprise if it comes much later.

I don't think a vanity system should be a make or break thing. The game needs more content first and foremost. If this is something you can't live without you could always unsub and come back in three months after they add it.

It's not game breaking if it's not there.

I just got some cool even gear that I'd like to use with my Pugilist until he gets his artifact. Adding it in soon would certainly be nice as I'm not touching the class again until it is.
