This is a tough one. Probably Freya. I really like her devotion to Fratley and her story arc was great. It's a damn shame that she basically becomes nonexistent after you escape from the castle, definitely one of the more interesting characters.

Zidane is another one, which is funny since I usually don't care for the protagonists in FF games.

...I'll never forgive Squeeny for the absurd amount of reverb added in FFXII's version of his theme, that had such a nice arrangement otherwise, but we can't listen to the friggin' instruments.

Kefka was and still is my favorite FF character.

I liked Edgar from FF6 for some reason. Just liked his look and story involvement and enjoyed his tools abilities. Heck I also liked Gogo from that same series, mimic was about the best skill ever, have Terra cast Ultima and Gogo mimic it = very dead monster.

I also liked Vivi from 9, but who didn't?

And just about every class/combo I could come up with in FF Tactics. Had one guy I kept alive and with me from the very first starter recruits the game gives you to the very end.

I have to go with Cecil. One of the few FF main characters that didn't whine about what they had to do, they just did it.
