Any Tips for DPS Turn 5 Conflag?

This is embarrassing, but.. we seem to have an issue being consistent on killing conflags. Our dps are all rather geared (blm and drg both 10/11 i90, both boards 6+ pieces i90), but, we just can't seem to consistently do it.

Are there particular rotations people have found are most effective for their personal classes?

Unfortunately, I'm a tank... so there isn't so much I can do other than using my dinky little attacks. (I am of course holding my off gcd skills and fof, but still, I'm a pally).

Feel free to flame us for being awful, but at least mention what specific abilities your dps use on conflags while you do it.

Irony is, we seem to have no issue dealing with later phases, just... fail on conflag way more than we should (seems to be mostly luck when we make it through).

Pop cooldowns for even(2,4,6) conflags, odd conflags(1,3,5) will have a fireball running into them resetting the timer. Also don't run into the conflags as the tank if you're having trouble consistently dpsing them. Could also have a healer adding dps too I guess.

Edit: sorry to hijack the thread however i've also wanted to know about limit break in turn 5, sometimes we'll do 4 conflags to divebomb and have LB3 for snakes, sometimes we'll have 5 conflags and only get LB2 for snakes.

From a bard perspective, I usually pop internal release and hawks eye on the first, b4b raging for the 2nd, IR for the 3rd, and b4b barrage for the 4th, etc.

Tell tem to not use their CD's after the initial pull on the adds, save them all the way until the conflags start.

Edit - I guess I should also ask how you are stacking fireballs?

We set up so that it will be a 3 stack as often as possible, we have, however, only received one piece of healer allagan in almost two months of 1-4, so our healers are low hp. So if they get targeted it has to be a 4 stack.

Our group has been having the same consistency issues on conflags. We have the same setup as you but with a little less gear it looks like. This week we are going to try to 1 tank it. Our PLDs are equally geared so one is coming on their MNK who has 5 allagan pieces and a few other 90s / 5 melded items. I'm not sure if it would be an option for you all to try to 1 Tank 5 DPS, but I've watched a video and heard of a few groups doing it. It doesn't seem like a 2nd tank is necessary for anything as long as your tank and healers are decently geared.

We... um.... already one tank it <.< And I think i'm pretty decently geared, 6781hp and 470 accuracy full buff.

Safe the highest potency skill right before conflag and BAM it! XD

Pop str/dex/int pots if required

As a BRD, I use IR/Hawk's/Barrage for the 2nd and IR/BfB/RS for the 4th (manually cancel BfB after the conflag dies if your side is targeted by fireball). This lines up well with my CD usage in the pre-conflag part of the fight.

Or you just use three camps, one fairy+second tank (for the fireballs), two camps with healer/DPS. The one with fireball marker runs to second tank+fairy, this way twintania only gains three waxen flesh stacks and you have longer time to DPS the conflag down. If you run into the problem that you can't get the limit break full for snakes: use this tactic with the additional trick: let a BLM (with nearly enough HP to survive one fireball shared with only 3 people) replace the second tank in mentioned fireball camp one to two times, that should always give you the additional LB boost for emergency healing + you don't have to stop DPS, which gives you additional 20-30seconds for the enrage timer later.

Ideal time to use this trick is right at the start of the second phase, when the first fireball hits. Switch the second tank for a nearly enough HP topped BLM and earn the extra LB boost :) We are using this tactic and it works well.

Most important thing to know is that even conflags explode faster than uneven. So 1, 3, 5 are "slower" and you can take more time to kill, while 2, 4, 6 need to be bursted down.

I keep my CoS and SW ready for 2, 4, 6. DPS should "split" their DPS buffs between them. There is no reason to pop all on one and then fail to kill the next cause you lacked the dmg.

BRDs for example can use Raging Strike/Blood for Blood for Conflag no.2, and then Internal Release/Barrage/Hawks eye for Conflag no.4.
Also helps to have one BRD use Requiem on Conflags so you help out with DPS on your BLM. DRG is providing piercing debuff for BRDs.
And they should have off-GCDs like Blunt Arrow/Repelling Shot/Flaming Arrow ready for conflag 2,4 etc as well. Flaning Arrow especially since they can DPS their own conflag in case they get it.
Also helpful, buff up before the conflag is up. Once you see the blue circle and you know it's not you, use your CDs so they are active when conflag is targetable and you can straight DPS.
What helps on BRD as well is refresh your DoTs on Twintania before conflag comes and only use one DoT on conflag (Venomous Bite since it is higher base potency)
Might give you that extra Bloodletter proc you need to get it down in time. It's a waste of 2 GCDs if you use both cause neither of the DoTs will be lasting their whole duration, basically loosing DPS.

The biggest issue I found with even cnoflags is that a lot of people tend to not switch target right away and waste 2-3 seconds still DPSing Twintania.

I always Cleric Stance and Stone II x3 times -> Fluid Aura on conflags as a WHM. I do the same for the big snake at the end of the dive bomb phase - stuff adds up pretty quickly and I don't think we've had a conflag explode since I started doing it ~2 weeks ago.

from tanking prospective, I will always help kill the conflag whenever it's up, someone has already mentioned to burn down even number conflags, i usually pop "Fight or Flight" right after killing the first conflag, it's a 30s buff and the 2nd conflag come rather fast, if you do this, your cooldown will be ready again for the 4th burning conflag. I don't go into the conflags because eating death sentence help build LB meter (unless both healers are trapped), once you get death sentence's timing down it's pretty routine.

also, your off tank can help by switching to swordstance, the added dps can be a lifesaver. a 4 stacked conflag has about 15secs of uptime if i recall, so make your dps count.

if you have a smn or sch, the pet can be counted as another person for fireball.

if you are having trouble with HP, you can penta meld some accessories with VIT or worst case scenario, respec with more vit.
