They should improve Howling Fist's animation

I might be just whining about deep useless thing, but i find it important somehow...
All jobs have their special flashy super mega AOE but the monk has nothing for him :

Healers : Holy and Shadow Flare
BLM : Flare
BRD : Many crazy arrow rains
DRG : Crazy retarded explosive jump
PLD : Holy beams
SMN : Pet LB

And what monks got ?

Screen 1 & Screen 2

You can barely see or notice it ! I mean come on, even the boss in Castrum who IS kind of a monk has the best cleave you could dream of : TRUE HOWLING FISTS.

I don't say they should make it exactly like that, but just improve it a tiny bit so it gets flashy as the other jobs... really.

It was exactly like the castrum boss move in beta, but people complained skills were too flashy

So during Garuda endless feathers stage you can hear "LASER BEAM LIGHT SHOW!" "LASER BEAM LIGHT SHOW!" "LASER BEAM LIGHT SHOW!" "LASER BEAM LIGHT SHOW!" "LASER BEAM LIGHT SHOW!" "LASER BEAM LIGHT SHOW!" "LASER BEAM LIGHT SHOW!" echoing through-out my house.

I agree with you completely.

Instead of giving it a flashy effect, they should leave it as-is but rename it Wombo Combo.

i'm not sure if it counts as flashy, but we do have dragon kick

Maybe you're missing the best flashy part because it's off screen, have you tried zooming your camera out farther?

So we shouldn't use free extra damage that's off GCD because it doesn't look flashy enough?

howling fist used to be just a straight punch in 1.0, and the current animation is taken from the move "Aura pulse" in late 1.0, which was taken from another move call "Seismic Shock" in early 1.0.

I actually prefer the old animations.

Anybody got a video of the move in the bêta ?

Lots of the monk move dont make sense to me.

-Demolish icon looks like a double backhand ground pound smash. Except it's a pure dot move instead of straight heavy damage...with tripple kicks animation
-Dragon kick should have been the gap closer move. I mean, it's dragon kick! I should be flying with that thing like bruce lee!
-There's nothing howling about howling fist. I should be punching straight like true fist with tornado blowing through my fist with dispel effect instead of line break (I know dispel is useless most of the time right now)
-Which bring me to one ilm punch. That should be the dot move from demolish. You punch, moving your fist for 1 inch then the enemy suffers internal damage (dot)
-Monk/pgl lore seems to have a thing for coeurls but we have no attacks based around/named after coeurls! I mean, I'm doing /dragon/ in monkey and /snake/ in raptor! You'd think that if you name a combat style after an animal, your attacks would try to mimic said animal.

I was actually incredibly disappointed when I used Howling Fist for the first time and realized it wasn't similar to XI's or 1.0's. There's nothing "howling" about the current version.

Dragon Kick makes up for it though. Breakdance fighting!

some skills need improvement , while others look cool as hell.....others are meh...bard , aoe skills are cool ,but the single attacks are generic at best

You forgot about WARs Yoga Flame. Which is so super awesome that spamming it doesn't even allow the animation to show up.

Umm monks have that attack thats looke like a mini LB, should be enough.

Gardes, you gotta remember that the third stance, which triggers your finishers, is called Coeurl Forum :3

Also, just as a side-note, Howling Fist should have been called Earth Slash, because that move is exactly FFT's Earth Slash, or Earth Render works too I guess as it is another name it goes by

Aren't warriors supposed to leave it up for a bit? At least that's how I see warriros tank Coil so that they get the extra healing received.

Lol i agree this was hell of flashy, if they could make something between that and the current, it would be great... but i guess they got better things to do.
