Summoner [Coil] Questions

1) My Raid Group is made up 2 tanks, a white mage and a scholar, a bard, a monk and myself (summoner) with a random pug DPS. Now we've been stuck at coil turn 1 this past week and it's been frustrating. The best try we had was legitimately 1% left on a fused Caduceus (2 bard party) but I'm not sure if we can keep that set up always. So if we get a physical DPS, I'll be called upon to kite, and I'm really not confident with that.
So summoners who kite! What do you do? Miasma II? Bio? Ruin II? A combination? (PS. Best raid involved me dotting and festering and throwing heals on the kiters who took damage (which ideally is none but yeah)
2) Assuming that BiS for Summoner (keeping max accuracy for garuda and int/crit etc)
Myth Head, Neck, Body,Bracelet, Hands, Waist
Allagan Earring, Legs, Feet, Ring
Astral Ring (pentamelded for +12 crit, +3 accuracy)
and I have: HQ Vanya Helm, Chest and Gloves (melded), and HQ Astral Ring and all else darklight , What should be my 1st upgrade?

back when I had to kite slimes, miasma 2, bio, ruin 2, and pet swap was all that was needed to kite slimes. with the hefty 40% slow, smn pretty much takes no damage from the slime at all and the only thing to watch for is tail swipe while making your way to caduceus.

We just have the OT grab slimes pre split, then post split ignore them. We have 1mnk 1brd 1drg 1blm. Black mage sits on the far panel in the chance that it is unreachable for the OT.

Whenever I kite, I tell my MEITS to let me handle the DPS on the slime. Then the MEITS go to focus Caduceus.

As for myself, while the MEITS focus Caduceus, I start the DPS on the slime with Miasma. After that, I toss in Bio, and Ruin II all the way to Caduceus. By the time you arrive to Caduceus, the slime should of have been weakened enough (That is, going in a slow/mid paced movement).

That.

OT brings slimes to boss before split to ensure 0 stacks on split, after split both tanks pull bosses apart (this works better if OT tanks the new boss where it spawns and the MT pulls the original boss across the room, since the MT will have solid hate and be able to kite better) then just all-out DPS them.

Both Tanks save their Damage Reduction cooldowns until 3+ stacks (4 if possible)

DD can Limit break at the very end if you're going to have issues killing both bosses within 15 seconds of each other, or Tanks can LB if they run out of Damage Reduction cooldowns in order to prevent a wipe.

If the SMN is kiting, something is wrong.

First question is, why not the OT?

Second question is, why take one of your best ST DPS (second potentially only to MNK in this case) and give them an activity like kiting slimes? That just protracts the pre-split period even more, which, based on how the SMN kites slimes, will inevitably lead to a split with at least 1 stack.

On the odd chance that you are talking about kiting Caduceus himself, then yeah, you need to focus on the tank cooldown usage and healing, not how to handle the fight when you invariably don't do that correctly.

In my experience, poor tank cooldown usage and poor healing is most often the cause of MT/OT deaths that lead to Caduceus fails.

First upgrade should be Relic +1. Second upgrade should be Myth head or Myth body, depending on whether boots or pants drop for you. (need one of them to drop before getting Myth body)

As stated above the OT should be kiting pre split and no one should be kiting post split. Time the split so they have 0 stacks and your OT is in position.

When is the split? 66% hp. How can you tell when that is going to happen? I know a guy who literally took a piece of paper a long as the focus target's health bar and drew % marks on it then taped it to his screen. IE: whatever you need to do to know when its coming.

Thats.....a little overboard. It's around the time the 3rd set of slimes pop that he's going to split soon. From experience anyway.

It completely depends on your dps. The group I run with often have him split before we've managed to feed the 2nd slime to him.

I'm on board with this guy/girl. Split time depends on DPS. FFXIV-APP has a plugin that can monitor target hp %, so that might work too. Our split usually occurs right after the second slime spawns.

Focus target, when his hp is between e and t in target he will split. You are welcome.

Since you got BRD y dont have BRD kite, or better yet have ur OT kite. if you all have relic (+1 will make it easyier) try to get clean split or do ONE slime after split then you shold be able to burn the boss. (Tank should save their CD and use cycle them after 3) stack
