People faceroll Wanderer's Palace and Amdapor's Keep with their overpowered characters, but no amount of Darklight is going to save you in the bile hell :D
And what hope does a level 47 Tank to hold hate off a full DL/myth relic+1 DPS of any variety?
not syncing on AV would kill its challenge.
I have to admit that AV is a nightmare.... but if you keep grinding it, it's really not that bad.
LOL I hate that L49 sync. I understand why it's there, but damn if it isn't annoying to lose Dragon Kick.
AV isn't that hard! Why would it need a "nerf"?? I did it as monk last week with a meh-group who were local(they knew what they were doing). The reason probably was because we joke a lot during the run. All the monsters were easy... we died a lot though. Still fun to do!
whare are you talking about, av is a joke. first boss melts like shit, second boss can be solo'd, and dont even need a tank for last boss.
I've never had much of a issue in AV minus a few groups who flat out didn't have the dps to kill things fast enough or the healer going oom from over healing. It was a bit of a challenge once when we had I think a monk and a summoner on the final boss but thats because mostly I count on aoe to make sure those little seed pods die before they hatch. But even with the lack of aoe we still cleared the run with time to spare. *shrugs*
I think Once or twice I have failed AV .. and it was really due to people not playing their classes correctly (by that level you should at least have some idea as to what you are doing... even if you purely FATE ground to 50). Like the mage who didn't know how to aoe on the final boss... I don't have a high level black mage and I had to explain to them how to play their class on aoe'ing skills. :<
AV is not hard...it is annoying. Love the second boss though. Sunken temple is how all the end game instances should have been. Places like AV and Stone vigil are just loaded with trash pulls that are not in any way fun.
I don't know if they had different teams designing the end game dungeons, but that last dungeons that were actually interesting/ fun to run through were haukke and brayflox for me. Stone vigil just came off as an ice crown rip off to me complete with dragon battle with cannons. Ran through darkhold once for access and never went back. AV has some interesting bosses but the end boss can be almost impossible if you don't have someone able to aoe the seeds.

Nobody reruns AV. Now you have to run AV to unlock AK. So with Ak and WP open, why would you bother going back to AV.
Once people get the hang of the dungeon they pass it and go onto better things. The only people left are people who don'y know what they're doing. Thats why its so hard.

...seriously, I beat this thing my first run through with a PUG. Just learn when to eat the fruit and where to stand and you're golden (or not golden, as it where). Google a video if you need to see what to do. Explain it to whatever people that are in your group if they've never done it. As long as you explain in clearly and in a non-condescending manner, and the other people are not secretly cabbages, it should be only a little tough. If you still can't beat it and everyone's geared properly (which shouldn't be a problem), and you realize that the gold liquid is not for bathing...well...I don't know what to tell you. Play better? That's not meant to be condescending, I just don't know what else to suggest, it -really- isn't that bad.
I hate the sync in general for removing access to our abilities. They should just scale down the numbers rather than taking core spells away from us. It's extremely frustrating and makes syncing down to help a friend in a lower level dungeon really boring. >_<
But then we'd have even fewer dungeons to run whilst leveling, so no to that. But I wouldn't mind hard mode versions of Cutters Cry, Qarn, and Aurum. Toss in Stone Vigil while we're at it.
I just can't see chain-pulling AV nearly as effectively as WP or AK. The ranged flowers, the eggs, the frogs.
Those ranged flowers are the most annoying mobs while leveling, most mages never figure out to sleep them if for some reason the tank can't get it in the pack.
inb4 2.1 includes hard mode version of two 2.0 dungeons (and those 2dungeons are those who were endgame in 1.2?)
