Right, Accuracy is worthless until Coil where you need at last 470.
This is like saying i90 gear is pointless because you never needed it to beat Ifrit (hard).
accuracy affects your dmg output. Just because you are hitting the mob, you may not be hitting it for the full potential. Example -- You do 5 attacks and they range from 75 - 200dmg. That is because your accuracy sucks.
More accuracy = more consistent numbers.
go test it yourself. DO a range of attacks with low accuracy, than with cap accuracy. You will see for yourself
just explained it wrong, 15hours @ work + vicodin = dyslexic verbage
This.
I don't know for sure, that's why I'm asking, but the in-game description of accuracy doesn't say about a damage range, just that it affects how often you hit the mob. So far, I've had zero use for it. Granted I haven't done coil yet but even still - a stat that's only useful for 1% of the entire game?
try to hit a level 30 enemy at level 21, see how often you actually land every attack. Accuracy matters, but only when fighting content higher level (and at 50 ilevel) than you are.
I think what they mean is that accuracy affects your damage output in so much as it affects how many times you hit the mob. You do 5 attacks and if all of them hit you get 200 damage total, but if some of those miss you could end up as low as 75 damage.
Which is true. Aaaaand it's why accuracy is important. Also important if you're a tank as missing a part of a combo means less enmity as well as missing the initial pull with Tomahawk/Shield Lob.
you're taking something off other than accuracy if that's happening. Accuracy is simply missing or not missing. it doesn't modify damage (meaning it doesn't make an attack that lands do less damage). Having low accuracy reduces your damage by causing you to not land some of your attacks. which is what accuracy generally means in the first place...Quote:

Acc (to cap) is the most important stat for all tanks and dps in end game. Just because you don't do endgame, doesn't change how important it is.
I think it's kind of the point that you are not missing if you are gearing yourself correctly. You have the requisite amount of accuracy.
It's needed for coil because stuff in there is technically higher than level 50 even if the game says they are.
Basically, it currently doesn't matter to you because you aren't gimping it up so good job!
Accuracy is used for coil
I guess my point is that you don't have many occasions when you actually have to think about it or look it up because you never miss if you're fighting the appropriate mobs (which you always do - you have no reason to ever fight mobs 6-7 levels higher than you save for hunting log). I understand that in coil the mobs are level 50+ but it still doesn't have any kind of impact on gameplay outside of coil - which is 99% of the game. You can completely ignore it and not suffer in the slightest. As for gear, some peeps in my fc have leveled using level 1 starting gear from 1-50 doing FATE and never had an issue with accuracy.
when you meld a weapon, any weapon for personal use, do you even consider melding it with accuracy?
thats 99% of the game for you. For many of us Coil and that 5 WP a week is about 100% of the game until 2.1
Acc being high is huge for a blm doing coil. One missed blizzard and your screwed because you won't get your mana regen and hurts your dps significantly. 435 is the blm magic number it seems for turn 4.
