Here goes nothing, Well i wanted to play Final fantasy XIV with friends and they ditched me yada yada sob story. Well anyway ive been playing alone for awhile in general and it does not feel good. I transfered to Balmung, I haven't gotten around to joining a new FC, and my other friends who play FFXIV are rarely online when I am. I'm kinda picky and I want to wait till an FC really appeals to me. (Gridania-based, friendly, medium-sized FC with a cool name and logo that could use me as a high level WHM/GSM/WVR/LTW/CRP/MIN/BTN?)

Plus I've only been able to play at really random times lately.

Another reason I'm slacking on finding a new FC is because I'm wary of joining one, eventually mentioning that I'm gay whenever the FC is chatting about something, and having to deal with the same BS that we get on the LGBT thread on these forums.

So props to you for being forthcoming on that.

you should check out the server sections, you'll find people on your sever that want to do stuff.

Mine is small but we're doing a bit of everything. Rp, crafting, and endgame. Most of us are from SWTOR and/or FF11. Feel free to get in touch with me if either of you would like to join. We have team speak and we do have fun. Even though I get a little fire 2 crazy when we dungeon run.

My FC on balmung is recruiting if interested. We're twin-adder-only, with endgame and RP LSes as well. We don't really ride on the LGBT bandwagon, but we also don't care what your orientation is -- we just want to enjoy the game with cool people. While both homosexual and heterosexual relationships come up in the natural flow of conversation, we make a point to stay away from any in-depth discussion on touchy RL topics (politics, religion, race, orientation, creed, whatever) and potentially offensive material (extreme profanity, hateful language, ERP, etc.). Tbh, it's never really been an issue.
That said, if you're looking for a 'gay pride' group, we probably won't fit that bill.

Also, depending on what content you do, try making friends with people from PUGs, I've made a number of friends by running Coil, Titan etc. and adding people who play well/people I enjoy playing with to my friends list, then keeping in contact with them and doing other stuff together. So get to Mor Dhona and join some pick up groups, make some friends and you'll have plenty of people to play with.

Just thought I'd add a useful response since this thread seems to have just turned into a mass of people trying to recruit you to their FC ><

I know the feeling none of the people i used to play with were interested in this game so i was on my own for awhile. It worked out i'm in a nice fc with good people who i can have a laugh with just put yourself out there you might feel uneasy but it's better than being alone for your time here also Bazza makes a good point as well.

Good luck though. I had some WOW people playing, and they dropped out. I transferred to faerie (lulz) and found a good FC and people were adding me left and right as a friend after healing their dungeons and what not. Pretty good experience for a solo player. I am sure you will find your niche soon!
