Does medicate II generate hate if pt member's hp r full?

Like the topic says, any1 have comfirmed answer? I mean when other pt member r in full hp, only tank keep taking dmg, does it still generate hate since they keep getting overheal?

If not, im thinking about keep medicate II up with regen together, in some fight when boss do large dmg, looks like a good way to keep tank alive.

Downside is? U list it. :)

All heals generate hate no matter if they are over heals or not whatever number you see come up when you heal is what the hate is based off of - over healing is very bad mana wise and threat wise.

That means when some1 is full hp, i cure ii and crit over 2k hp and i still get that much hate? It just looks like unreasonable, that is why i want some tested answers, an answer for sure.

Yes you get as much hate as the heal says it does no matter if it is over heal or not. Very easy to test out... Cast an aoe heal in a 8 man group right as the tank aggros (and is still full HP - don't expect to live long after this)... or for that matter put a regen on the tank when he is full HP and as he walks up to a group they will turn to you BEFORE the tank takes any damage at all.

Not sure about that testing methed, it's like regen be4 tank pull, healer will pull hate anyway, we know what happen regen be4 pull. Any other way to test it?

This has already been tested multiple times. The answer is yes, overhealing causes threat.

Not exactly hard to test, just spam heal a DPS inside a dungeon and watch that threat bar fill up.

yes it does Medica 2 applies a regen like effect to ALL party members which ticks just like regen while its aggo build isnt as large as regens (from what i've seen) its applied to everyone so arguably it can be worse if all 8 members have it

Medica II at the start of the fight and watch as you effortlessly wipe your Titan group!

In all seriousness, Medica II is amazing but should only be used really late in fights, preferably after you've used Shroud of Saints at least ... twice or so. It's invaluable for the final phase of Titan when he stomps and just keeping people up in general in that phase if they get tagged with random low damage stuff so they can survive taking a random bomb or Weight of the Land.

Testing
Step one- Target boss
Step two- spam medica II (while keeping an eye on party aggro frames)
Step three- crap your pants as the boss becomes your newest bestest friend.
Step four- get yelled at by party for being a derp

Testing finished
Results all heals get you hate/aggro/enmity
Final statement- No matter how many times you ask us the same question, hoping for a different answer, the answer will always be the same. Healing someone for x will always net you x amount of hate be they at 1%HP or 100%HP.

It's true. Any heal you do generates hate. It may seem unreasonable, but that mechanic is in place to make healing more challenging and rewarding instead of making the role whack a heal spam. Med II is probably one of the worst heals to use if you are trying to lay low on hate. You have to use it when it is needed and not just because you want to.

Why is it unreasonable? You have ongoing healing? The boss/mobs look at you for it. Also a quick search would have solved this problem for you. It's not even debated; it's flat out true.

If you know regen will pull threat and medica II is an AoE heal with AoE Regen why are you asking? The regen from Medica II isn't diff that casting regen on your entire group PLUS the threat from the AoE Heal

Some people just can't handle the truth.

I consider it more fair than unreasonable. It's basically how you tell the difference between a good healer and a bad one. A good healer knows not to overheal because firstly, it's a huge waste of MP and secondly, as everyone above me said it pulls hate. A good healer can place their cures so that the the full effect of the cure is received. This is where criting a heal can become rather bothersome as well. It can also be a lifesaver. It's all about balance.

Wouldnt say you need to wait for 2 SoS before using it.. 1-2 minutes into a fight has always been enough

and I tend to use SoS after not before so that you're cutting half of it out, if youre gonna half something half the bigger amount..
If you had 10,000 emnity, SoS to 5,000 then medica2 knocked it back up to 10,000 you could wait a few seconds take the 15,000 and knock it to 7,500
