[To the Devs] Besides "Flank/Behind" bonuses...how about a "Jump" one?

Jumping during combat is useless. How about making it useful for a change? Like adding a "Jump" bonuses for attacks or when avoiding one? Apart from that some attack looks really cool when timed right with jump [Monk's Snap Punch/Dragon Kick]. And yes, it would be quite funny/silly to see 1-8 players jump all over the screen ;)

So a breakdown of what I'm asking for is:

Jumping -------> Attacking
* Bonuses for some attacks...not all.
* Can stack with Flank/Behind.

Jumping -------> Avoiding
* Reduce damage taken by enemies and their AoE attacks [low chance].
* Increase your chance to dodge/avoid enemies and their AoE attacks [low chance].

If no to this entire thread then please think about Dragoon's future. They are meant to utilized "Jump" and "Aerial" combat right? With that...make it happen Square-Enix!

Jump is useful to me as a DPS increase since I can throw it into my rotation whenever I want without breaking stride... I can also use it when gathering up adds.

Would I love to see it have the ability to nerf an opponent's buff? Sure would! After all... Kain vs Barbaricca...

Because of the constant love/hate players have over jumping in the game (seriously should have seen some of the rage over it back in beta), Yoshi promised that jumping would never be required for a fight (though turn 1 kinda has you do it lol). So I doubt you'll see this ever happen.

So in real life you wouldn't want to avoid a leg sweep or jump kick an enemy doing one because...its Rabbit like. Good stuff man.

Most common the person who would have to jump would be in melee range...... I did not hear of Knight of old doing repeated jumps to avoid damage of AOEs you would find in ffxiv. His argument is at least ground in common sense as much as you dislike it. Really.. people in armor making repeated jumps outside of being a DRG? yeah....... no.

Really? Do you have a link? If not that's okay. I honestly don't know how people can rage off of other over jumping constantly...

I don't :x Dunno if they have the beta forums up for showing anywhere. But yes, there were a lot really adamant about not wanting jump at all lol.

Did you not read the last thing I wrote on my post?

I thought this was for Dragoon Jump, not spacebar jumping...

So you're fine with 2-3 Dragoons jumps cool-down. GL and don't complain in the the future.

There are currently 4 Jump moves for Dragoon and 1 boost move for both Jump and Spineshatter Dive.

Would I love to have more 'Jump' options? Sure. I'd even love one that makes me invulnerable (devs say its not gonna happen...) but I think if there is that one, it removes your Aggro from the fight until you return to hit him... and it could be on a cooldown as long as Hallowed Ground. Of course this would mean a DRG who uses it (while 'Tanking') loses the AGGRO status, and the target goes off to attack something else until you slam down with MASSIVE damage (Astral Fire III + Flare equivalent) and heavy enmity. Invulnerability would be for about 3-5 seconds (No GCD usage, No ability usage at all)... A 300 second cooldown is fair for this type of ability, and it would be not used frequently with that cooldown.

What do you think about that idea?
