Loot distrobution is bad on coil turn 1 (possible bug)

Loot distribution is pretty bad in turn one because of this.

Items that drop from the left chest.
1. Allagan Round Shield (LEFT)
2. Allagan Circlet of Casting (LEFT)
3. Allagan Gloves of Healing (LEFT)
4. Allagan Gloves of Aiming (LEFT)
5. Heavy Allagan Armor (LEFT)
6. Allagan Cuirass of Maiming (LEFT)
7. Allagan Trousers of Maiming (LEFT)
8. Allagan Trousers of Striking (LEFT)
9. Heavy Allagan Flanchard (LEFT)
10. Allagan Earrings of Healing (LEFT)
11. Allagan Choker of Fending (LEFT)
12. Allagan Ring of Striking (LEFT)
13. Allagan Bracelets of Striking (LEFT)

Items that drop from the right chest.
14. Allagan Tassets of Maiming (RIGHT)
15. Allagan Earrings of Maiming (RIGHT)
16. Allagan Ring of Casting (RIGHT)
17. Allagan Bracelets of Aiming (RIGHT)

Total of 13 possible items in the Left Chest
Total of 4 possible items in the Right Chest

Chance of getting an item from the Left Chest is 7.6%
Chance at getting an item from the Right Chest is 25%

SE you should consider balencing out the loot and putting more items that drop in the left chest in the right chest. I am sick of seeing DRG belts, and INT rings almost every week.

Have you ever wondered why did we just get our 6th drg belt? Well its because it has a 25% chance to drop.

6 weeks of doing turn 1 and ive seen 4 drg belts 1 drg earring and 1 blm/smn ring pretty bad if you ask me
whats even worse we don't even run a drg in the raid :(

We got Allagan Trousers of Striking 7 times in a row, 8 total out of the 10 times we ran...
Drop rates must be broken.

How else are they going to keep you going back to the coil? It certainly isn't the engaging gameplay mechanics.

Sad but this is the truth.

Not enough content means what we have will be limited by RNG droprates and lockouts until more content comes.

You literally can't do turn1 without getting a piece of DPS loot, LOL.

I KNEW the loot pools were messed up, but THIS bad? Seriously SE? Learn how to design loot tables, jesus.

Having RNG is fine but when its skewed into having 4 items drop more often then everything else, that doesn't seem right.

Coil in general is ridiculous, out of the 4 groups in our guild, we consistently get 50% drg drops. Turn 1 has been 2 drg drops for the most part. It's like a big middle finger from SE, "Here's gear for the class you never bring". Tank gear being the worst, which is what we desperately need for turn 5.

From what i've heard from other guilds and forums, this is pretty common, I'm pretty sure it's done on purpose to slow down progress.. otherwise when they release CT, everyone will be in full ilvl90 and CT will be the alt run. Which already looks like the case.

Can confirm after 7 or 8 weeks of my group doing it that loot is not split evenly between chests in atleast turn 1. There does not need to be 4 possible pieces in one chest while the other has 13, this is not random when it has been this way for every group that has commented on it for weeks.

We have seen the same caster ring every single run except for twice now where we have gotten a dragoon belt and then aiming bracers the other 2 weeks.

I have forgotten how to roll "need" in coil because I haven't seen a tank piece drop in over a month of farming 1-4.

I've gotten healer gloves, paladin shield, dragoon ring, Allagan Ring of Striking etc... Caster ring not even drop once D:

Truthfully, what other reason is there to log on? If we get most of what we want from Coils, chances are that people will log on less and less and have little reason to keep subbing.

No one is asking for loot to be handed out though, all people are saying is fix the chests so the 17 pieces are split evenly between the chests or even just flat out make the chests random. Having only 4 pieces in one chest and 13 in another is going to mean one chest will always have items you do not want once your group has seen each of them multiple times because it's the same 4 pieces.

Care to share your loot table? I'm still hoping for the f'ing trousers to drop while everyone and their mothers seem to have them.

Hmmm, not sure where you got this loot list but it looks off to me.

Yesterdays drops in my group for turn 1 where the Heavy Armour and the Allagan Striking Trousers, according to your list that's not possible.

Pretty sure this isn't the only situation in which loot distribution is skewed.

Thanks for bringing up this concern. While the actual drop rates are a bit different compared to what was posted, we have indeed confirmed an issue that resulted in the items not being evenly distributed between the two chests and we will be addressing this in a hot fix next week.

Nice, fixing it. Hilarious at it literally being bugged, I knew it. I wonder how many more loot pools in this game are bugged? I seem to get the same items from certain AK chests 95% of the time.

It was so obvious that coil loot was bugged, with how much DPS loot drops and how little everything else.

Can you please look into chests in other dungeons? I've run 200+ AK's and in those 200+ runs I've seen some accessories once, MAYBE twice, and a bunch many many times. Also only seen healer gloves 3 times, maybe 4, and I feel like demon wall and the first boss consistently drop the same items over and over and some items are incredibly rare. This is 200 runs worth of data, so it's kinda accurate.

Can you also look into the drop rates in The stone vigil. I know this thread is about end game drops, but I figured I would add this here instead of making a thread just to have it buried. I ran SV all day today, and only thing that dropped was the Smn/Sch books. I ran this as WAR/Tank, did it about 10 times give or take. Got to the point I was calling out what the drop was going to be every time.

Are you kidding me? People are doing Coil for two and a half months now and just NOW, after posting about it, the Devs realize they messed up the distribution between the 2 chests???

This is obnoxious. Players shouldn't be the ones pointing out that loot distribution between those 2 chests is messed up, it is something the devs should notice the moment they code/program it...

I love the game, don't get me wrong, I have fun playing it and I can't wait for 2.1...I don't care that CT drops itemlvl80 stuff, even though I'm only missing 3 itemlvl90 items on my main job, but this??? Seriously??????
Oh we messed up loot distribution between 2 chests...TWO...it's not like it is complicated to figure out when 3/4 of the drops come from one chest, and 1/4 from the other that something is not right...and just now they realize it and gonna hotfix it next week. This is something that should have been done on week 2 of the release if not happening at all. It's things like this that make me lose hope that the simplest things could be implemented w/o any issue.

Point is...if the players wouldn't have kept track of what items dropped from which chest...would they have noticed it at all?

I'm going to echo Shiyo's post because AK does seem like it has very messed up loot distribution as well.

I know that some chests are messed up. Like the chest of Psycheflayer usually has all the head pieces and some gloves...but it also has Toxotes Moccasins and Hoplite Belt for example, while other Belts drop from the Accessory Chest. While I'm fine with the regular body piece drops...the accessories really should be split among all 3 chests between Psycheflayer and the Demon Wall. Having every single accessory for each class come from one chest is just irritating. We are talking about Ring, Earring, Choker and some of the belts here. It's a total of around 18 drops inside this one chest...that's just ridiculous xD

PS: I don't need any of them, since I got all by now...but for those actually progressing on AK it is kinda annoying.

Bit annoying, would explain why my group has seen the brd bracelets (I thinks it was those, I'm only interested in the healer gloves I haven't received yet!) drop 3 times in a row. Good thing we haven't been doing coil that long. Sucks for anyone who has been trying for specific gear for ages and maybe hasn't even seen it drop!

You should really look at the AK chest that drops the Hopolite Ring; I have done AK over 200 times and have never seen the hopolite ring and one of the other rings.. I have every item possible in AK and have passed on every item again nearly 100 times because I can't roll on them.. but have still not seen the hopolite ring.. it's drop rate is so low I've actually managed to get my allagan and hero ring before ever seeing the hopolite ring and still haven't seen it drop and it is the same for many other tanks on our server.

I was tracking the drops I was getting from this chest because it was becoming a running joke in our FC that I was full iLvL90 with the level 49 Amber Ring still and I gave up tracking it when it dropped Strategos Choker 14 times in a row for me.

I understand RNG but out of all the possibilities that chest actually has; 14 Strategos Chokers in a row is pretty unlikely.

In the distant future when it may actually drops for me I'm rolling need on it so I can take the pleasure of NPCing the bloody thing.

So RNG is RNG /s

7 items per chest is alrdy abusrd as it is but then again if they would give you tokens for multiple jobs so you could choose which piece to get everyone would complain that there is notihng more to do since tehy are all already decked up in allagan gear.

Well thats funny, cause we dropped the past 4 T1 kills 4 times the Caster Hat and 3 times the Caster Ring, but every other Turn just drops the usual melee stuff with sometimes a tank piece :x

you should reimburse all thr coil groups on all servers. /trolloff

Of course you're going to see more dps gear. There's one tank set, one healing set, and four dps sets. Use your maths people. Even after this hotfix it will still be that way.

Ideally, the correct distribution would be to distribute relative to the party member makeup.

i.e. one in 4 pieces is tank gear, one in 4 pieces is healer gear, and one in 2 pieces is DPS gear.

This sucks because I've never seen the dragoon pants and now after the fix it could be that much longer

Wait, just turn 1?? Umm Allagan Circlet of Healing anyone? I think we are up to 5 now. I strongly believe that loot issues extend past turn 1, it has so far seemed that RNG is not the major factor in much of the loot drops throughout turns 1-4.

Well, at least they admit to screwing up this time instead of deny it and ninja patch it silently later on like they always did in FF11

Someone should look at garuda as well.. i swear more than half of the time i get sch book. its like they are trying to make up for the fact that those are new classes

I don't think anyone that posted after the official answer understood what they most likely meant.

They said loot distribution is off in coil for the two chest. Basically, the comment suggests that it may seem harder to obtain loot for a specific class because most of their drop are concentrated in a single chest (especially if the loot table of that chest is bigger than the other). They did not say anything that justify people whining that they have not seen x or y gear in z runs of "insert dungeon or whatever here". This is just rng and people complaining for the sake of complaining.
