Will it create a brotherhood of PCs and create a new type elitsm due to the high cost and time it takes to build it?

That's the silliest notion I've ever heard of. Housing forging elitism?
I don't see it having any negative impact on the community.
Time will tell
It may make free companies more insular. It's important for the community for players to be out and about, rather than roosting in their company house and only venturing forth to run a dungeon or primal battle.
Community is bad and it will remain bad.
Gamers stay in their house to play FFXIV where their character stay in house and use DF. Houseption.
on serious note I think it would be nice to have an official place to hang out with FC
I expect to get to know fellow members more
It will create neighborhoods that will be so elitist that they will judge your FC less on their dungeoning achievements and more on their choice of gardening/internal furnishings. Evoking their elitist wrath if you dare not match your curtains with the color of your cushions.
The only negative thing that housing might bring, is the fact that the interior will only be managed by those who have the right to do so. Which might result in people pouting that they can't create their own house/room to their own taste. I'll be one of those people pouting due to this lol.
I just want a crafting hall with a Retainer bell. I really don't know why they call it the Merchant Ward.
doesn't matter the RMT's will figure out a way to make it frustrating and joyless
I'll be pretty sad if I walk into the market in Ul'dah and don't hear all the crafting noises there, because everyone is into their FC house. Sitting there and crafting stuff along with everyone else makes it more enjoyable, for some reason.
I heard someone wants to put a card game to play in the house. That would be a blast if the game is fun. I think everyone who wants thier own house will feel a little frustrated, but I believe it's an incentive for people to find a good FC that can work together.
It will be fun to see how everyone's designs are different. Friendly competition to have the nicest trophies and house doesn't have to be ugly or elitist.
I'm in a raiding FC and don't expect to have any say on where anything goes in the raiding FC house.
I created an FC on an alt. character with two other people I trust. We're "roommates", dividing up the furniture capacity fairly.
Fully plan on placing it next to the raiding FC house to make people jelly... :P
Now that's what I'm talking about. I feel like I will do something similer if I don't get to at least do some landscaping. My FC is pretty nice and I feel we will be pretty democratic about it, but with so much compromise, no one is really satisfied as if you had your own house to design.
