Coerthas Highlands is such. HUGE map and only has 1 Aetheryte, while a very tiny map like Northern Thanalan has 2 Aetherytes. Please add Aetherytes to Observatorium and Whitebrim.

I want less aetherytes overall.
Yeah, we need LESS aetherytes. There are enough in the world as it is. It doesn't even feel like an open world because I can teleport everywhere.
I agree. The main way to get around in FFXI was to rent a chocobo, or call your own. The lack of travel in XIV is a bit depressing. Any time I need to go anywhere, all I have to do is drop 300 gil and *poof* I'm there.
What happened to WHM teleports, or BLM warps?
Personally I feel that Coerthas needs to be bigger, hopefully western Coerthas zone will be opened up for Shiva and other content.
It will be. I imagine we'll get the Eastern sections first though; Eastern Highlands is clearly visible and appears to be occupied by Ixal now with the entrance being just north of Natalan, and Eastern Lowlands should just be through Griffins Crossing. Not sure if we'll ever see Central Lowlands again though, given that we now seem to go straight from Central Highlands to Mor Dhona/Shroud...
Have you been taking Realmreborn / Roiken lessons?
Just in case of a 'no', You don't need [To the Devs] in your subject line for your posts to be read. It doesn't increase the chances of the community team reading it and in fact according to them increases the chances they will ignore it. The best way to get their attention is to post normally on subjects of actual interest to the playerbase (often reflected by post likes).
As far as the acutal complaint goes, NO. the world already feels too small, the last thing it needs is a higher concentration of telepoints.
Bring back the anima system, it forced you to actually plan out what you were going to do and gave you a reason to actually travel around because you couldn't spam teleport. Most people I knew never dropped below 80-90 anima anyways. There was airships, we had chocobo's, there were ferry's, nothing wrong with a little leg work. Teleporting was more of a quick way of getting around in a party rather than for personal travel.
Oh and the lore reason for the gil cost is kinda silly.....Needed gil to repair the aetheryte nodes...I think they accomplished that already.
IMO, the only places that should have the Aetherites are the 3 main cities and Coerthas. From there you can bloody well walk, rent a choco or call your own.
Firstly, I think people need to stop comparing this game to FFXI. And if I recall, if you didn't have the warp locations yourself you still paid someone else to port you there otherwise, thats not very different than the system we currently have no? Except everyone can now teleport independently without having to rely on another person to help them do so.
Anyway, I don't think adding another aertheryte in Coerthas would be a terrible idea, but at the same time the world definitely feels really tiny as it is even if you just hop on your chocobo and auto run.
I'm offended.
It's called progress, if you don't like convenience you're quite welcome to travel through each zone on your own without using the /teleport option. I would welcome an Aetheryte in Whitebrim personally. I am glad we can teleport so I don't have to see some douche asking for xxx Gil for teleporting people.
I used the "[To the devs]" to try to irk realmreborn.
I never got to really play XI and XIV is NOT XI-2. You will kill the game trying to make it so. XI and XIV are VERY different games with very different targeted markets.
Anyways, they need to add more Aetherytes (Primal-wise) for the Nightmare Mode Primals, so I was hoping that they'd give more porting options for Coerthas as it is a pain in the ass having to ride halfway across a huge map... Either that or an ability to place a 'Return Beacon' not bound to an Aetheryte.
They (SE) might if they're still trying to slowly decrease or maintain gil in the game considering that we can now earn gils from dungeons now. Because admit it. Some of you guys abuse the teleport system so much, you don't really care if the game takes your gil away. :P Especially for those who fate grind and don't wanna chocobo it back to Dragon head, they just use the 100 gil to go back because why? We are lazy humans and its convenient. XD
But just a thought. I'm not saying yes or no for the idea. Just saying it is a possibility. If they do add it, convenient. If they decrease, oh well. We have to suck it. Because in all honesty, for you to be in Coerthas, you should already be way past the level on obtaining your Chocobo.
Well its true, the teleporting makes it more casual friendly. Also I'm offended. Where did I say casual is bad? Casuals keep the game alive and theres nothing wrong with teleporting.
Game needs to cater to both types but anyway I think the teleporting is fine as it is. But thanks for the info! ^^
Also I know I can walk everywhere...you're also assuming that I want to. >.> those days are long gone..which I'm glad for. ^^
Progress? According to some people teleporting is progress? So i guess in a few years we will log in. Get auto max level, auto max gil and the best gear in the game and people will stand about looking good and all because "We don't have time to spend on things and unlike some people I have a life, job and children etc".
When trying to appeal to people not having time becomes the reason to destroy a genre of game it is time to remember why people play that game type in the first place.
I find it funny that if anything mentioned that slows the pace of the game is mentioned peole respond with "well this isn't XI-2" or "well go and play XI." no one is mentioning to change it into a hd version of xi, so dont get your panties in a bunch.
I see many agree there are too many aetherites/tele nodes. I mean how many are in each city like 10 no? I am not saying they should be exclusive to a class, well maybe give Black mages warp, their class is so horrible right now they need a little love ;p.
Ever hear of less being more...?
usually they respond with "WELL IF LESS IS MORE THEN JUST THINK HOW MUCH MOAR WILL BE."
Aeno
Getting to the point where games play themselves is progress.
If you don't like that there are so many teleport features...don't use them?
If you feel like people aren't traveling by choco enough...then don't use the aetherytes at all?
You're just mad that you can't force everyone to do the same. The game is giving many options for travel and you're choosing the easier ones. Well, choose the harder ones then. Just don't be mad when I want to teleport wherever the heck I want.
There shouldn't be any aetherytes in Coerthas! You non-believer heretic adventurers aren't welcome in the holy land!
There should be a "no [TO THE DEVS] rule in thread topics".
Don't waste the dev time or attention trying to take a jab at another poster as you said on page 2 in your comment.
[TO THE OP] The crystal is pretty smack dab in the center of where we need to be in that zone. We got Mor Dhona for to the lower part that has its crystal 20 feet from the zone that covers that entire southern end of the map. The other crystal covers the other side. You can teleport to different zones to reach fates faster in corethas. Use the resources they gave us to your advantage. Adding another crystal in one off the other towns would not add anything to the zone that's not already pretty accessible fast.
for everyone complaining about too many aetherytes and you enjoy the mindless task of runnining/chocoboing everywhere.. the simple solution is to not use teleport. don't try and say the game needs less of something because you are set in your old ways and have fond memories of running everywhere and artificially padding your gameplay with monotonous tasks.
The whole point of a MMORPG is to be part of a huge world and become a life form within that world. How is the current world large? You can get anywhere at the click of a button.
Travel time is what makes a world feel large it adds to the experience. Just like scenery and weather it adds to the feel of the game. Travel is not exactly the mindless task you imply it is. Knowing how to get somewhere is part of world knowledge or at least being able to use a map. Teleporting everywhere removes the need of knowing where things are.
I think part of the problem with MMO's these days is many people like the idea of playing an MMO but don't have the patience required to actually play one. Everybody wants everything NOW or sooner.
I can count on one hand how many times I have used the teleport feature since phase 2 of beta. Otherwise I just run or ride my coeurl everywhere (I like the music and frequently hum along to it).
I make use of aetherytes only as a place to bind myself to in case I should die while out doing whatever. I think their current numbers are just fine.
Less warp points would be better
