Just so everybody knows, Behemoth failed to kill Odin last night, for what I believe was the third time in a row. I had a silver, so it was a heartbreaker. Sure would be nice to see what he looks like though! : /

yeah you're just wasting your time, Odin is really pointless to kill unless your under lvl 50 and can "actually" use the armor. But most likely anyone who does Behemoth or Odin is already decked out in Dark Light and a relic, that i cant even figure out why people bother to kill those two.

That gear looks cool, so there is a reason to get it, even if you don't use it for combat. Vanity slots will also come one day.

To be honest dude, there comes a time in your overgeared lvl 50 life, and trust me, you will experience this yourself at some point, that if it isnt going to offer you anything in return for the effort, then you arent gonna go do it. Its what happens in MMO's, your first basic thought process kinda looks like this---> Hmm, can i get anything out of this that is going to be an upgrade for my character? No? Meh, not doin it.

Achievement, vanity gear, chocobo barding.. lots of reasons to do it

I enjoy the fights, and even if we fail I really enjoy watching a huge mass of people die, it's hilarious IMO. :D

o_O I've killed him around 12(ish) times.... don't keep an accurate count. Once gold, 5 times silver, rest were bronze. So far I got the barding, the armour, plan on getting the helmet and the sword purely for vanity and then continue to kill it cause it's not unlikely the mantles might be used for furniture or w/e in the future. There's a lot of activities that don't benefit my character at all, yet I still do them. Like, standing in one spot for hours just talking to people :p

Odin isn't exactly Ifrit. Odin is a once every 3 days chance at awesome looking items fight. Before you start saying "Yeah but you never get anything" I got gold two days ago and now have Zantetsuken plus the other people in my group that are running around with the barding or armor. Maybe there will come a time in your overgeared level 50 life where you will want something that few others have and be willing to spend 10 minutes of your day to try to get it.

Heh... when I read the thread, I thought Behemoth (the primal) failed to kill Odin.

I never see Odin, just die to stuff I didn't even knew he was casting, so I stopped trying. Behemoth on the other hand, is quite fun to me.

When vanity slots come around (whenever they do), the Odin armor will be totally cool to swap in every now and then. Same with Behemoth. I see value in just looking cool, but 50% of the reason I play these types of game is just to look cool/pretty. It's why I skipped the DL body completely for my PLD.
