What is you single target HPS?

Since this is kinda hard to get a baseline since much of it depends on who I am healing gear ect...

I just wondering ball park what people hps is on a single target.

I know healing our coil warrior on a 3 min parse I was averaging 700 ish hps (combined with fairy)

With all the buffs popped and warriors buffs popped I top out at 774 hps for a short time.

no one parse?

Parse? Never use it for heals. As long as no one dies I consider myself having a good heals.

My Cure I does 1000 on average and Regen about 500 or so, though.

to me the term hps has no value to a scholar.

Is everyone alive and you are doing good on mp? and if you're in AK / WP are you dpsing? if so, your doing fine. Why would you parse heals anyways, a good sch will heal less than a bad one.

Hps is very important on tank fight like coil 1 boss

Coil stuff mostly tyring to see were I can improve or if I need to improve... I main heal or war while he tanks split add our strat involves no blob feeding so ya hps is very important

HPS cant be measured in FFXIV:ARR for many reasons:

- Does your target need healing? (overhealing is not good)
- Did your target used "Recieve more healing" ability?
- Are you preserving MP or do you need to go all out healing?
- Is your party member (other healer) assisting you with heals? (overheal, again)
- Many more factors to take into account.

HP/s isn't like DPS. When your ally's health is full there's no reason to be healing the person anymore, you just waste mana because you can't over heal them (besides shielding). You also have to wait for them to get hit, as well.
For DPS, they can parse because it exists to kill the enemy - and when the enemy is dead, the goal is achieved and progress can continue. This is not the same for healing, keeping your ally topped up until the end is progress but it isn't a race like it is DPS because you can't keep healing your ally to just have the enemy fall over and die to progress, it's just plainly about keeping people alive.

You'd be better off getting rid of this mentality that you need to know a parsed HP for every minute or so. Look at your individual heal and keep it at that, because you know how much you heal per heal then, that's it.

We need better metering not none. Overhealing per second, Shielding per second, ect. To better judge and compare efficiency, and effectiveness. However, HPS is currently the best measure we have and its better then nothing.

Are you pre-casting heals or are you casting after the tank gets hit? Are you pre-casting Embrace? If the answer is yes to pre-casting, then you're fine.

Remember, my HPS can be 200 higher than yours but I can be failing more because my heals are being front-loaded, I'm overhealing excessively and I'm being too reactive and the tank is dying when they eat a crit on a hard skill.

Anyone know if the parser is accurate for Scholars? I was in a coil group and got kicked because apparently I did "50% compared to the whm's heals".
Does it take into account of Eos and my mitigation?

Eos is individual (like pets to their SMN) but shields do not parse since it's not considered a heal but mitigating a Tank's damage (so really the parse would just show the tank got hit for less and nothing more)

If they kicked you for that it's a good thing they did, because you won't be a part of ... that group of ignorant jerks.

The less your HPS is while everyone in party stays alive the better. It's more important how much healing your average heals do (and their crit %).

But I've never parsed my WHM HPS.
