Pudding in WP.
Anyone found any other decent uses for it?
I've used it for knockback on Demon Walls Repel, but not much else besides what you just mentioned.
When the Dullahans charge up "Iron Justice" I move behind them and cast it, they can't turn around and just stand there getting beaten up.
i'm not sure if it worked but i've used it a few times on odin and he stopped moving.
not sure if that was because he was hitting someone or he's actually holmganged though.
wait for pvp, the ability to root a player in place, it will prove to be invaluable when trying to dps kiters...
Use it on Marmots in Thanalan for giggles
One of the WAR tanks I play with often uses it on second boss in Wanderer's Palace when the pudding boss targets a different player and starts to chase them. Stops it in its tracks.
1st boss of WP also, its funny to watch mobs just stand there
When the second cadaceus spawns maybe? As an off tank you use holmgang, aggro the "add" and then move it away. So you don't risk to lose aggro and let the cadu hit (and kill probably) someone. However I never tried it, so i don't know if it actually works.
Its awesome animation.

Also for info, to the WHMs looking at this thread, you can use Fluid Aura on the 2nd boss in WP, on the bees assisting demonic wall and on Chirada, it work exceptionaly well too.
Even if you assume its not your role to do so or if you think you wont have the time, it can make the difference betwin a good & a bad run so its worth trying, & the casting time is near instanly.
when someone does a cone attack that prevents them from changing direction I run behind them and use holmgang. gives me a 6 second stun effectively (because they only want to attack me, but it's impossible to attack when they can't turn around and autoface their target)
*walks up to unsuspecting dragoon* holmgang! *dragoon's target gets away*
holmgang is like cover, its pretty useless most of the time, but when it works: it's pure gold.
also question: is caduceus immune to holmgang? if not you could holmgang the second caduceus when they split and keep it from cleaving the raid.
I've noticed that if an enemy is vulnerable to slow, you can use holmgang on it. If it is immune, you cannot. Means you can hit Garuda with it and not Ifrit for example.
3 Minute CD on a skill that can also hurt you is just a joke by design though. It is barely useful even in the most perfect circumstances, and harmful in almost all others.
