Launcher Problem

When I click the launcher to launch the game everything seems to come up fine - except for the fields I need to enter information into to actually logon! There is no user ID, pw, or one time password field. Any advice?

I just also opened the launcher and am experiencing this issue :(

Is the logon section just a black block for you?

Yep. Everything else loaded fine except the area where you type in your info.
I tried restarting my computer, and now the parts load... but nothing happens when you click "log in"

I posted my problem on Reddit and someone said they had the same problem and it loaded on its own after about 20 minutes. I think I'll let mine sit for a bit and see what happens. I'll also restart my computer in a few if it doesn't rectify itself.

Let me know if it works for you. I'll let mine sit here too and keep trying to hit log in.

Same issue here, been going on for the past hour or so :(

Edit: And still unable to login. Everyone on the reddit thread thus far has Comcast for an ISP.

Comcast. Anyone else have a different ISP and having this issue today?

I know its not my computer since my laptop loads launcher fine when i tether to my cell phone.

I played last night without an issue, nothing has changed on my PC to my knowledge other than the maintenance they did last night. Now when I goto open the launcher all I get is a black screen.

I am on Comcast also, apparently.

Most my launcher loads, it's just the actual login that I'm missing. I've left it to sit for a half hour and got nothing:

Talked with Comcast rep, he chatted with Tech support. It is a known issue at this time, they are working to resolve it.

Comcast and I'm having the same problem as of maintenance. I closed and restarted the launcher about 6 times and was able to get it to load, first time it did this the "Login" button didn't function as someone mentioned previously (which has happened to me in the past), the second time it worked and let me in :D

Same thing is happening to me. I have closed and re opened the launcher many times and it doesn't work. I have done all the things i could find on the net to fix it. But the weird thing is the game opens and works fine on my laptop but on my desktop it wont show the login button or the part where i enter my info :(

I am getting the exact same thing. I have reloaded over 10 times. I do hope that this is resolved before i get off work.

I'm in queue (number 20) to talk to Comcast chat. I'll report back what they say.
My speedtests are all showing that my internet is fine, but I've been having issues all day trying to load certain pages (ie. Kotaku won't load, but Twitter will)

No login menu either. Everything else in the launcher loads correctly. Not sure why this would affect anything at all but Comcast Seattle area as well. And how do you insert pictures? WHY DO I NEED A URL? Son of a, even this forum needs work.*UPDATE* Anyways, an error just came up saying script in the background is slowing down my computer and when i told it to stop running, it shut down the luancher.

I'm also having issues, have comcast and live in the Northwest. :( I was even having problems with getting into the actual site, took several minutes to load when I've never had problems like this before.

Also in Seattle. Well, that's silly -.-

I am also having this issue O.o I live in Washington, and on Comcast. (Fairchild Air Force Base) and I cannot connect/have the blank launcher. I actually made it to character select but there was nothing there except the blue void...

I am also experiencing this issue. I am also on Comcast and in the Seattle area. I am having absolutely no problems so far with any other online games or websites that I have gone to. It is extremely annoying and makes no sense, even with my moderate tech knowledge.

Ok, an update for me. I just waited. about 2 minutes for the launcher to load its stuff, and then about 3 minutes for everything to appear on the character select.. and now Im in the game with no issues. Rather odd indeed.

So lucky,the only thing that started working for me within the last few mins was being able to pst on raptr and see my profile on raptr.Still cant even login to the game. But other games work :(

In Seattle as well and can't get my Launcher to give me the login form.

Running win7 with latest patches.

I sat on comcast's technical support chat waiting for a rep for about 30 minutes before I gave up :\ Hours later, I still can't log in.

This is crap. I am also on Comcast in the Seattle area. Waited for launcher, fields showed up after 20 minutes, but then... nothing.

Edit: I found a fix. Delete FFXIV_BOOT.CFG in "C:\Users\<user>\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn". It will have you go through the EULA again and will take you directly to the play button.

That worked for me Nonok. Thanks. Wouldn't consider it a fix though, more of a workaround, but at least i'm getting some sweet sweet crafting leves in now.

I am in the Seattle area. South Seattle with Comcast. Same issue.

The workaround did not work for me and am still just getting a black screen.. Seattle area also.

Thanks Nonok,It worked but when you exit game or boot pc you have to do it all over again to make things work. :D Nonok saves the day /YAY

I wanted to post here as I found a workaround that seems to work. At least it is for me.

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

I setup a proxy to be used for my connection. Then I was able to see the login and enter my credentials. Once I had launched the game I turned the proxy off.

How to enable a proxy:

1. Navigate to Control Panel
2. Navigate to Internet Options
3. Navigate to the Connections tab
4. Click LAN Settings
5. Under Proxy Server check "Use a proxy server for your LAN"
6. Set the Address and Port.
   You can google to find free proxies to be used for this. There are many out there. Use this at your own risk. While this works, I can't guarantee your security and you need to make sure you protect your data as best as possible.
7. Launch Game
8. Log In
9. Click Play
10. Turn Off Proxy
