Someone who understands Japanese has there been the article in your hands?

I can tell you tomorrow if I find it in a local 711 or lawson but not the 25th yet
apparently there is also an interview with Tanaka on FF11
I have to wait for mine to be shipped over by a friend, so won't have my grubby little mitts on it for a while.
In a semi-related note, I came across my copy of Famitsu from when FFXIV got announced the other day when clearing out some cupboards! http://yfrog.com/hsbdhedj
I have a feeling it will be another delay due to the psn hacking. My dad said that because of the hacking, sony had to make new developer kits and send them out. And since ffxiv uses the full internet, they might need to remake using the new dev kit. (just guessing based on what he told me)
about time they give more information on the Dengeki
I work in the industry. Also, being a mod on the forum has nothing to do with "insider knowledge", gimme a break. And as Sojiro mentioned if it were true everyone would be aware of it already, stuff like that doesn't just slip under the radar.
Use some common sense, if your PS3 works perfectly fine after a firmware update why wouldn't a dev-kit?
And it's funny you ask me for a "source" when you're the only one claiming something happened in the first place, where's your source?
so ? any news for the magazine?
Devlopers reported being able to continue work on games long before PSN was brought back up to the public. CoD Devs mentioned a few days before PSN went back online that they had resumed work on the online portion of the game.
New dev kits are unlikely and obviously not required.

Thats all I could find at the moment until something more detail comes out/reliable comes out, sorry.
thank =)
i hope we will have more detail from the magazine
that site hurts my eyes, the text, ITS MOVING
I'm dying for that info.
Someone please provide a translation.
I've seen peeps on this forum saying they live in Japan / speak Japanese / etc...
Duty calls, guys! (^,^)
Any information about the PS3 version is better than nothing! I am starving for more...!
lol Well I saw the magazine saw that XIV was only 1 page and decided it wasn't worth my money haha XD and no >.> didn't get any general info from it as I know some of us other Japanites are going to get it and translate it >.>;;;; I just got out of class... I don't want to translate anything haha....
PC would have better Graphical hands down PS3 would just get a boost from what they thought it was going to be before. They said many time that PC would be update to DX10/DX11 and PS3 would be at 720p am guessing the boost may be 1080p but not as great as PC version but just around there.
Also maybe now they can see more Chars around then before PS3 would still see less char load up then PC version so the ps3 does not have to work so hard.
Cant wait for scans :o or new info about PS3 version
I wouldn't be surprised if, like everything else under Tanaka, the PS3 version was rushed and looked like crap. They'd already said they'd have to reduce the quality of graphics somewhat to deal with the PS3's processing power, I wouldn't be surprised if it was done pretty roughly.
Now that we're at a point where the PS3 release is make or break, the quality of that game has to be pretty damn good.
Edit: (Should clarify, I mean everything was rushed under Tanaka, not that everything looked like crap. Lots of pretis to be found in the game.)
I am pretty sure that Colino is right on this one, other games weren't effected in this way. So I highly doubt FFXIV, which hasn't been released to the public would falter as such.
The PS3 version received (at least in early news before the PC release) a sensible downgrade in polycount and texture size. Also, it was limited to 30 fps. I wouldn't be surprised if the team was working to improve that in order to bring it nearer to the PC version.+
Anyway, this should shut up the doom and gloomers that continue to blabber about the PS3 version never coming. I personally espect the announcement for E3 and release before the end of the year.
i don't think they would dare to rush out the ps3 verion after THIS pc start...
And they better take their time improving the engine a lot, also for the future. That benefits the pc and the ps3 in the long run. They need good ratings for the ps3 to fill the servers faster... If not, well i dont think that the game will fail but it will take much longer to bring profit then...
ummm you guys do realise that it is the same game on the same servers. The only "rushed" stuff was lack o content which got fixed once alot of the bugs and stability finally got fixed. so the only thing we gotta worry is graphic rendering. And even tanaka stated minus a slightly lowered texture detail both verions look the same. The ps3 version is gonna be fine. The only reason ffxiv "failed" at launch was content and UI issues. Which are being addressed. All they need to do is beta test or just launch the thing. Which I really can't wait for. My brother put an admin code that locks me out from updating the game and will not turn it off and my mom is allowing it. (yet if it was my computer if someone complained i had to turn it off)
Plus maybe they want release PS3 version with addon. As i know they started make addon last year. Will be nice, Ishgard, flyships, chocobo, biger level cap and maybe new zones and jobs.
I doubt they started to work on an expansion/add on already, unless you just mean they want to make sure the PS3 version is launched once everything that people should've had from the start is implemented, then yes. But all that stuff will definitely be in the base game...no reason an add on would be needed for just opening Ishgard among other things.
So basically nothing to look forward to according to this article then. Btw they never said anything about the game having less copy/paste just maybe small tweaks to texture resolutions which are barely worth mentioning.
I wonder why there's no pressure from the community to CHANGE not tweak the current landscapes because as far as I'm concerned that's some of the most boring scenery design I've seen in a fantasy (especially final) game.
Because as surprising as it may be, the community can avoid the most incorrect and retarded complaints.
I'm a bit proud actually.
I'm a game developer and the company I work for is working on a PS3 project. We're still using the same development kit we've had for years, Sony haven't said anything about needing a new version, nor is there any reason why they should. The PS3 hardware isn't going to be able to be changed so the development hardware won't need to be either. All security improvements will be software based on the PS3 hardware or improvements to both the software and hardware of Sony's servers.
There has been pressure from the community. It is an issue that is constantly brought up but we just know that it's going to be right on the bottom of the list of things to do for Square, in fact i doubt they would even consider it. I think all we can hope is that future zones are done by someone less lazy and retarded.
because
1: you're not "the community", and most of the community disagrees with that. Some asset recycling doesn't change the fact that the landscapes are lovely in looks, and just require the addition of more key landmarks.
2: because most of "the community" isn't as completely brain-dead stupid as to believe that throwing the whole maps into the bin and making completely new one is a realistic option, resources-wise.
Then there are the trolls, that are completely clueless and that think that the extensive use of bold adds more solidity to their mindless rants, but luckily those don't represent "the community".
