You will NOT be seeing chocobos or airship in september, that's for sure, because according to the producer's letter:
current task -> Examination of mount system (including chocobos)
future task -> Establishment of details for mount system
implementation of mount system is no where to be found!
not a word on airships either, I can bet we will never see them at least until next year, and that is assuming FFXIV is still alive by then. -
