EfE, Virus, Sacred Soil, lustrate - they don't use mana.

my dps spells don't use much mana.

Succor and ADL use a lot of mana - but am I seriously supposed to be spamming them?

I'm really confused that someone would complain I don't use my mana enough when I was under the impression that Scholars shouldn't really have mana issues :L

Was it just white mage envy?

I would say probably just a misunderstanding of how your class works. So long as evertyhing is alive i don't see why its an issue.

I'd say that, too. SCH just doesn't have to deal with the mana drain that WHM do, by both having the fairies and so many DPS skills pulling none of our stock while also having Aetherflow.

Mana management, as I understood, was part of the challenge of being a White Mage, verses Scholar's need to properly direct and command the pet.

I NEVER go below 70% MP with my SCH, lol. They're just so MP efficient.

The lowest I ever regularly go is 50%, but that is when I'm not riding my Aetherflow countdown, spamming Adlo/Succor, Raising, and all around just wasting MP because I can. The only time I actually run out of MP is when I have to cast raise more than 3-4 times in a single fight, and at that point it just isn't my fault.

Then I Energy Drain the rest of my charges and Aetherflow again. Voila, back to over 50%.

I'd say just MP envy. It can be a tough balancing act for us. :]

when someone dies and look at their HEALERs mana. They will think that you are not spamming your heals.

Depends on the situation. If I'm using Aldoquium, Succor, and Resurrection a lot I can start dipping quite low, especially if people are taking a lot of damage. It also depends on whether or not you have a bard using MP song with you.

Yeah, SCH are pretty Over-powered in MP management, hopefully they get nerfed.

If nobody is dying, and the other healer isn't getting overly burdened, there shouldnt be any issue. Scholars naturally have a pretty infinite amount of mana due to Aetherflow, energy drain, and Eos. Don't sweat it.

If noone is dying, go on Cleric's Stance and cast DoTs and Bane. The slow effect from Shadowflare can be a nice debuff to have as well.

Honestly, SCH start having mp problems as a fight progresses, especially in Coil, simply because your energy drain can miss, so you have to start using your aetherflow charges better. If things are going well, then you should have enough mp to do whatever it is that you need to do, however when things start getting crazy then your mp can quickly disappear. Great example of this is turn 4, when the x4 dreadnaught starts hitting the tank, you literally do not stop casting the aldo -> physick combo, simply because it's pretty much required to keep the tank alive, especially when they are taking a 5k hit every 7 seconds.

I've seen this a few times even to myself as a White Mage. People seem to interpret the amount of mana you burn as how much you contribute regardless of good mana management. Unless it's a particularly tough fight where something went wrong i find myself rarely below 3k MP and i've had other healers bitch at me and act like i'm not doing anything when i clearly am. It's not your fault if they overheal or can't plan out their mana regen effectively.
