Tips for r25 Botanist

So I'm currently r25 therefore I only have Arbor Call III. The problem is each time I gather at a rank 3 tree I only get around 90sp. I need to gather from r4 trees, but I cannot just wonder looking for them on Coherthas.

Is there a way to search for rank 4 trees before Arbor Call IV which I don't get until r28 Botanist?:confused:

do leves until you hit the next rank, its not worth trying to find trees at your level and getting very few swings a go

That's my thinking but I only get two r20 leves every cycle and only one gives good SP...grinding FTW!

Go to the other city-states. You'll get an extra two leves at each one.

That's six leves per reset if you run around enough and are willing to forgo the battlecraft leves.

What I do is grab the maps off yg with the resource nodes and then color code them based on the loot tables of the trees in the area. Once you get your initial route going you good for what 70 minutes before you have to pull up the map again to find the new route.

If you purposely fail your leves after 90% completion, then each reset you can do 2x Leve (if you fail the second one) for max sp hit :)

Also, you could find a higher ranked Botanist that doesn't want to do their fieldcraft leve to pop an r30/40 botanist leve for you. If you do an r40 collect item leve at r25, and hit the item with Sweat of Brow on you'll be getting 2500+ SP.

Also note that in the collect item leve, you can tell when it is actually going to be the item you're getting by the length of the remainder bar (it looks longer than other loot). So if you purposefully miss the item, or just cancel chop then reactivate the node, then you can keep whacking away without the burden of fatigue. Will get you an extra 30 mins of grinding essentially.

Or, just grind bud. 20k sp for 2.5 hours worth of effort. At r25 that's almost a rank up right there. You only need to get to 28 after all :)

And don't feel discouraged. It's common knowledge that the X5-X8* period is the annoying bit.

*X = 1, 2 or 3. 45+ is in its own league...

Yeah it's not too bad now that I can do r30 leve's and I almost got enough to Botany Gil marks to buy Triangulate IV which can be bought after r20, not 30. Also, better gear helps :)

Can you explain that a little further - I'm not comprehending what you mean exactly. Are you saying that you should deliberately fail preferred leves just before completion so that you will surely be able to do them again at the next reset? The "then each reset you can do 2x Leve (if you fail the second one)" part is confusing me :/

Failing the leve will let you re-attempt it next cycle (along with the new one). Of course the problem here is it requires a trip to town to pick up the new ones, and if you do it from each city, it can get annoying.

Basically you fail the leve, complete it next cycle, go back to town and pick up the new leve, fail that leve, complete it next cycle, go back to town and pick up the new leve, fail that leve, and continue the cycle; it's common practice to do this with big SP leves on DoW/DoM classes.
