Example of Every Quest in the Game

Person 1: I was told to come to you for a Quest?
Person 2: Ahh, so (inconceivably impossible name to pronounce) told you to come to me, eh? Twas not long ago that I was quite renowned in this city... Ah, yes. It all started 20 years ago before the Calamity when I was just a wee lass...
(Five Minutes Later)
Person 2: ...And that boy is why our Apples are so important. Still think you are up to the task? The bees in La Noscea have been causing trouble of late. I want you to slay two of them. I think if you defeat two bees, our Farmers will have no more troubles.

(Continued)

(Person 1 goes out into La Noscea and defeats two Bees, then returns to complete the Quest.)

Person 2: Ahh, so you've defeated the Bees. You don't have to say anything, I can tell by the look on your face. Ahh yes, those Bees have been causing a lot of trouble for our apple pickers, but you, Adventurer, will be remembered as a true saviour of the Apples. I was once tasked to Guard the Apples from the Bees back before the days of the Calamity. Ah yes, it was very satisfying to protect the Apples from the Bees. We must protect the Apples our the townsfolk will have to resort to other, less nutritious fruits during the frigid season.

( 5 Minutes Later)

Person 2: And that, Adventurer, are why our Apples are so important. Go now, bring this letter to the Shopkeeper in Gridania and tell him I said you could have a free Apple.

I swear... Every time I do a Quest or something, I have to read through about 10 minutes of meaningless Dialog of some complete random stranger's life-story that has no influence on the story whatsoever. A couple of times I'd just be clicking rapidly through it all saying, "I can't understand your intense Pirate-style langugage..." or "OMG, I don't care!"

I never got a free Apple, and I killed lots of bees. :(

You don't have to read it if you find it so meaningless. I know I don't. I followed the main story and class/job quests only.

So in other words, you don't like RPGs? Yes, the quests can get a bit wordy, but some people like to read and like knowing the back story to certain things. If you don't want to be bothered just keep clicking through the quest dialog like you have been. Just don't complain when you don't know what's going on in the story later.

I totally agree with this post, these npc's so do enoy rattling on about the most uninteresting of things or really stretching it thin to the point you just begin spamming the dialog button. :P

I stopped reading anything other than the storyline quests.

And someone else in the lore forum was just complaining about not having enough information given. You can't please everyone.

I used to guard the apples, til I took a stinger to the knee.

This is funny because it is litterally every sidequest in the game xD.

I personally like it though. Makes the world feel more alive. I know some people do not like it and it should be skippable for them :/

LMAO! This is quite accurate, though. I never skip the dialog/lore, even for leves (I even enjoy most of it), but this is spot on. Some people just don't have a sense of humor.
