328MB
Official Downloader wont even start for me lol
Added to uTorrent---just to check size, of course---and noticed it doesn't even begin to download; tracker seems to be blocking it.
Anyone else happen to notice in passing---while innocently checking file size---the same thing?
Remote connections: 33
Local connections: 20
It took about 20 mins to complete and it is just finishing now on the official xiv downloader.
No need to use uTorrent. It's in My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\downloads\ffxiv\48eca647\patch
Took me 5 minutes =D
Would be interesting to see what's in that 320ish MB (I believe 1.17a was also overly sized considering the content), lots of groundwork being put in place, I'm sure.
I on the other hand was trying to bypass the launcher/patcher and could not pick up any dht connections via uTorrent.
DAT file checkers GOOOOOOOO ^^
DONE!
patcher hearts me
I'm at 10%.
gonna be a stupidly long download again *sigh
I cant even get past 1kb/s lol I hate living in uk!
Patcher took me ~30mins (the last 10-12 of it was strictly uploading).
If uTorrent really isn't an option anymore, I feel bad for students living on campus ._.
tbh i dont know how there going to cope with the big updates if there still using this system. would make sense to change it asap to avoid more anger from players
Finished the download and patch in about 25-30 min, now I just need to wait for the game to go back up. XD
The fact that they're blocking other torrent client makes me REALLY angry. So now not only do we have to torrent the file, but we're also forced to use SE's @*#$ty implementation that doesn't even work for a large number of people.
/angryface
been downloading for almost 1 hour, still estimating around another hour to finish... T_T
On, much crafting to dooooooooo ~ And Xeno, that sucks. XD They need to "fix" or w.e the official downloader for Europe. >_>
Already finished downloading long ago. Long live open ports! Weirdly other bittorrent-clients work pretty fast even without open ports...
done! mine took like 5 min max
Hmm wanted to upload the update to a file hosting site for a friend but I guess the updater deletes the patch after install now. I remember in beta i could get to the update file even after it was patched.
5.4% downloaded and 0kb/s download after over an hour.... and cant use utorrent anymore? SE fix this stupid... my "other" torrents download at max speed i have do put bw cap on them... and stupid client only doing upload at max my upload speed...
Been at it for an hour... 16.1%. This is ridiculous. I'm upping constantly at 50-100kb/s, but download sits at 0 for 4 minutes flat, then goes for a minute before dying out again.
Yeah you have to sit at your screen, watch the uploader get to 99.9%, and the second it hits 100%, cancel (or even end task) so you can copy the freaking file somewhere.
Or at least that's what I did.
Sites like megaupload always give me an upload error, and while I FTP patches for my friends who are European &/or students, I'm scared of SE making angry faces at me (*._.')
Update been stuck at 0.6 percent and hasnt done anything since! Gonna be here all night! SE needs to fix this retarded update system, no other game I've ever played has screwed players this way on updates. Hope they pull they're heads out of their butts and figure out how to patch like every other game has.
austria (europe) here and mine was done in like 7 min, seriously the installing took longer than the downloading
yumi did u open any extra ports to help you download faster and btw does anyone know which ports the ffxiv updater uses?
Assuming you know how to open ports (if not, visit portforward.com),
UDP - 55296 - 55551
TCP - 54992 - 55551
UDP - 443
For some, it's a miracle fix---instantly fixes speeds.
For others, it makes a small or unnoticeable difference. Europe seems to be especially impeded by XIV's downloader.
