Why do people seem to have this construed way of thinking when it comes to player base? A game does not have to be as large as WoW, or successful as WoW, or have as many subscribers as WoW to work. Neither does a game need to keep a large % of the initial launch rush of players to stay afloat.
Final Fantasy ARR is doing very well right now. If you take the time to post on these forums to complain about the subscription numbers, then you can be spending just as much time promoting the game somewhere else. Doing so will actually help this game more then anything you could post on here.

Check the forum of any mmo released during the last 10 years. You will see the same threads over and over. And I'm sure the trend will continue. You will have the a wide variety of Threads consisting of:
-No Content
-Players are leaving
-Not enough variety
-This game is doomed if x doesn't happen
-Game X did that so why can't you
-The community is the worst
-The server are always down when I want to play
and so on. Only thing you can do is ignore it. Always keep in mind people who have nothing to complain about are not as active on the forum :) -

Alot of people here played, liked and enjoyed World of Warcraft, and simply left because their time with it was over. These people are not toxic in any way, shape or form.
For some odd reason it's the 'in thing' to be seen to disapprove of WoW at every turn. -

The mentality of the "zerg all the things" players is fairly toxic to a game where the base philosophy is the opposite of that. Some people may not agree on that, but that's kind of the case... it's a foreign country (Japan) that developed this game. Their fanbase and philosophy towards games is different from the West.Quote:

Mind you, I've played WoW since Dec 2004 (until a few months ago). I thoroughly enjoyed my time. Likewise, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in FFXI since the NA launch until around 7yrs after. I've enjoyed games from many countries, and experienced the extremes of content. I play games for what they are, not what I want them to be. Going back to the missionary example, people should be accepted for who they are, not who others want them to be.
