How many tries did it take you to get Strategos Ring?

I'm literally on my 40th run and I still haven't found it. I almost have full DL by now...
I'm not a millionaire and I wanna save my myths for +1 :(

ok, first off. if you are a scholar, skip the +1 relic and get the ring/ all accessories instead. the actuall endgame weapon you are looking for is the allagan weapon. crit is way better for scholar than spell speed. otherwise strat ring drops as often as you would thing. there are 5 sets of accessories in ak. therefore 25 items to get. each run has a chance to drop that one, so its a 4% chance that it will drop. good thing you have to grind it 10000 times ^_^

Theres no way I'll beat turn 5 or even have the luck of having the book drop o.o
Are you sure the lv90 ring is better than +1?

The one time the Strategos Ring dropped or me, I'd already replaced it with the Hero's Ring of Healing.

I got it first run... was actually the first piece of loot I picked up in AK too.

Never saw it. Finally after having literally every other set and still having the pink AV ring i just bought the 90 one. I mean the 90 one is proper stats so not a big deal.

I got it at first, second try maybe?
It's all about luck.
I love Acolyte and Battlemage Robes, but after 100+ runs of Sastasha, Tam-Tara and Copperbell I never dropped them even though I had them in the beta.

It's not. That little mind boost you get from a ring isn't anything compared to the boost you get from +1.

Got it on my first, and so far only, run in AK when I had to do it for the relic quest. Also got a pair of pants. I just figured the game thought I'd earned it, considering my horrible luck when it comes to all other things RNG related.

Took my quite a while to see the ring drop. At least more than 30 runs or so, but when you finally see it drop, feels so good.

42nd run! lol.

At least I had full DL before I was done eh? :)

I used it for about 3 weeks before I grabbed an Allagan Ring from Coil anyway. The Myth Jewelery is on my list however, after I get a few main pieces first.

Don't rush for the Myth stuff over your relic weapon, you might not kill Twintania anytime soon for the book lol.

With +1 being the single biggest upgrade, don't you think it's needed for downing turn 5? I hear most of coil is rather healing intensive.

First of all : get Vanya HQ and reach the crit rating / determination cap on each item (except for the boots, get spuce pattens or smthn like that). You don't have to take legs tho since DL ones got crit on it.

Then, you have to bother with HQ crafted accessories since they are just better than lvl 90 ones (the myth ones that is) : you can have vit AND crit on them.

And to finish with : I wouldnt bother with the relic before gettin 500 crit minimum / 300 det.

When you do reach that, then you can go for the +1

Actually with full crafted you can get 532 crit and 300 ish det, by removin your crafted weapon and equippin relic instead you ll be at 500ish so it ll be all good stats wise. Of course, lvl 90 myth items give more crit than forbidden melded Vanya but hey.

It has never dropped once when I've been on SMN/SCH - probably 75+ runs. It has dropped 3 times in about 20 runs that I've done on the PLD (different character).

I got it within the first few runs. Never seen it since. It's been about 40 instances since.

Probably took over 50+ AK runs to get mine and I still have yet to see a dema ring for my smn :P

I'd say somewhere between 50-60 runs or so. Semi-related, I've only seen one strategos neck in that time, it was while I was on my smn, my fc mate wasn't paying attention to chat and rolled greed on it when the other people passed, and I lost the roll. I have yet to see another one drop and it bugs me crap out of me every time I look at my sch setup.

I've seen the smn one drop twice, but have not had the sch one drop yet. done probably 30+ runs by now. Already bought one DL ring, I suppose with my luck it will drop the first run after I buy the next ring.

You're honestly better off using HQ crafted level 49 jewelry with Mind stat on it than that. Meld it with Vitality and it helps to down Titan, and you're short like 4 mind stats.

Dang! I guess I got lucky. I got the Strategos ring on my second ever AK run.

2 months of AK, 0 drop. Luckily I have blessed ring from 1.0 . . .

SMN is full DL, SCH is almost full DL, both relics... I've done almost all of it through AK. I've seen the ring drop twice on my SMN, both times going to the healer. When I run with my FC (and I drag them there kicking and screaming usually), it never drops. When I pug as heals, it never drops. When I df as heals, nope. I am at the point where I'm considering spending MYTH to get my second healer ring (for my alt spec), because I am that tired of hoping that it will drop. It feels like the only thing that drops is Hoplite choker ... seriously needs to up the drop % on this stupid ring, for my sanity's sake!

I got mine after probably 80 AK runs. It was the last item I needed for the full set.

what's a strategos ring?

I've bought one of my DL rings and am almost full DL, have yet to see that ring drop. Can I buy a second DL ring for my 2nd ring, or do the rings have to be different?

Just buy Hero's and be done with it

I was full DL several weeks ago; I am now in a mix of AF+1 and Allagan, I have my +1, a recently relic'd PLD, and almost full sets of AK gear for all jobs. I have NEVER had my Strategos ring drop. I have long since purchased a Hero's Ring.

I feel extraordinarily lucky that I rolled greed on it in one of my first AK runs, got it, and have had it waiting in my retainer precisely for the moment I finish leveling WHM. Along with a Titan cane and lots of Strategos gear (and phil tomes) ready to equip.
