Question to scholars.

I currently use synapse by Razor to bind my pets embrace with my adlo and physick spells. Doing this I get about 1.4k heal when focusing the same target with both spells non crit. I leave the tank targeted and used mouse over healing so whenever I use a heal spell embrace hits the tank and my heal spell hits the mouse over target on the party window.

Now the question: should I keep doing this or should I be leaving my pet in steady stance? To me the way the pet only auto heals when someone is below 80% health is a waste.

I'm kinda doing the same using Razer Naga Molten mouse having profiles tied to it and swapping them depending on the fight/situation. I get better results micromanaging my pet that way.

In combination with synapse I'm using ahk to macro my pet better like rouse+.... and when I dot/nuke my pet will heal my tt.
*popping a potion before summening your pet will give your pet those stats for the whole duration it is out even after the potion has worn off.

I use a mix of keyboard / mouse controls to micro manage things. Mouse Button 4 for Aldo, Button 5 for physick, Ctrl + 4 for Virus, Ctrl + 5 for lustrate, Shift + 4 for Sacred Soil, Shift + 5 for eye for an eye. Makes things so much easier to access and control. I do this for my pet with the Q and E buttons as well, only difficulty I have is remembering what everything is bound to. Takes a lot of practice, but once you get it down, you become a much, much better SCH.

My macro I have is num4 (embrace) + num1 (physick) with bind key num1 as one macro. The spells go off at the same time. The other one I have is num4 (embrace) + num3 (adlo) with bind key num3.

For my macro for Selene (since whoever did the pet UI coding needs to have his college credentials checked as I think a high schooler could have done better) 1 (spell speed buff) /wait 31 sec - 2 (skill speed buff) /wait 31 sec. I have this in repeat since if she was coded appropriately she would and has randomly done this correctly. Unfort I have to rely on a macro program because of poor in game programming. The activate key I set as num7.

Periodically the buffs from Selene do get out of sync so I have to dink with it between bosses so it isn't full proof but at least I am not having to worry about her spells when I'm trying to focus on healing without having to completely focus on my fairy, avoid that plume, cast physick on that stupid bard that can't run for shit, and still heal the damn tank. One less unknown variable in the equation is a good thing.

its way better if you can micro your pet and controll everything she does. always set your pet and if you can manage to juggle everything micro the heck out of her. you can more or less be 2 healers in 1.

I would be nervous about being unable to unteather my physic and embrace cast. One thing about the fairys, they are very quick at responding to low health party members (if you notice, they can actually cast on raised targets the exact moment they are eligible, which no player could reliably do). If you are keeping your fairy on pernament cool down by teathering to your casts, you loose this advantage. From the way your post is worded, it seems any time you cast adlo/physic, it always tells your pet to cast on the same target and you thus loose the fairy's reactive power. If you have it bound so you can trigger just those spells, then ignore.


Even as a ps3 player, I have found its not hard for me to leave space for Embrace on my main healing section (physic x adlo square embrace triangle lustrate circle) so I can, if I choose, make her heal my target.

For most encounters, I would say that micro managing embrace on Eos is more wastefull than helpful, as it would be nearly impossible (not quite) to ensure you never waste her cool downs trying to get her to manual cast and go back into steady. For example, on Titan I would much rather hold onto whispering dawn for stomps to make sure I can solo heal them rather than speed up one single target heal by a second or two. That said, in fights like turn 1 and 4, its probably worth jsut blowing embrace as damage is never raid spiked (except the very end of four, but even then you want it to just fire asap).

I honestly find the pet's ability to react faster than any PC more of a boon than a liability.

So do i, sorry edited so that was clearer. Its why I think you should be wary of keeping embrace on cool down.

I was more agreeing with you than anything.

I put the fairy next to the tank and let her autopilot (with Eos anyway, Selene is another story)
Usually the tank is what needs the most heals but if a DPS gets knocked down, you can let the fairy do a heal on the tank while you take care of the DPS.
Some people like to micromanage their fairy but I find it tedious and almost a waste of time? In the time I'm micro managing her on & off obey I feel I could have used to do some quick DPSing to help bring the mobs down quicker. This has worked for me in every dungeon up to & including Amdapor Keep/Ifrit HM/Chimera.

I think it just depends on what you're comfortable with... I use a Razer Naga, and have almost everything keybound to it. However the way I do things has been developed over several years of gaming, so it won't work for everyone and it's what I'm comfortable with.

I use Q and E to "Place" and "Heel" the fairies (I use my mouse to strife), and I keep "Embrace" and "Whispering Dawn" on my hotbar for spot healing. Otherwise, I just let Eos do her thing. I gave up a long time ago with trying to micro manage everything she does, because I found myself focusing more on those small things rather than healing my tank and party members. Once I've placed her, I'm happy with her spot healing the party... Others may find it wasteful of her CDs, but I feel confident enough in myself that it's not necessary to worry about her blowing them.... Would it be nice to control when I can use her skills? Absolutely. But until the pet management system is improved I'm not going to fret over it.
