I was just thinking that if the cap continues to be the same, how about an alternative?
Something like: ( Below equals to 1 piece of gear)
- 500-750 Tin Pieces
- 200-300 Bronze Pieces
- 100-150 Silver Pieces
- 40-60 Gold Pieces
Note: However much is appropriate for the gear would obviously be up to SE to decide.
It will also get people that don't wanna do sidequests into doing it for the Allagan pieces.
Just throwing out ideas, and to give Allagan Pieces more of a use then just selling them.
Note: What I listed, is just an example, and should mostly be alot higher than this.

750 tin = ~19k
300 bronze = 30k gil
150 silver = 75k gil
60 gold = 150k gil
Total gil to buy a single piece of AF1.5 = Just under 300k?
This would destroy the crafting market for high level gear (vanya, darksteel, etc) ...
I'd be opposed to this even if it costs 4x the amount you suggest.
Also, IIRC - Gold currency is only obtainable from non-repeatable quests. So there's a hard cap on it per char, and it can't be farmed.
I agree that we need another use for the Allagan currency besides just trading it for gil, but I don't think this is the right way to go.
Ditto for beastmen currency. -

None of this makes sense at end game because they messed up the game progression because it was not done. You were suppose to get DL until you beat Titan and then move on to Crystal Tower...but oops...that is not finished yet...so people have run Coil undergeared in order to do something. The tricky part right now is that AF+1 Gear is nearly the same as Allagan but you can just farm to get your AF+1 gear and then run Coil...the downside is you will have to save up for Months to do that and then you would be getting Allagan (or trying to) just becuase you like the look better. What they should have done is made quests to get your AF+1 Gear and made it hard...then it would be more interesting and feel like you accomplished something.
As it stands now you can get your "Best Gear" just by being brain dead running dungeons forever and ever and ever and ever and ever....then presto you have your best gear...yeah!!!!!!!! Most rediculous time sink in the history of a game. I am so sick of AK and WP already that I can hardly stand it. I am fully geared in DL and two pcs of Hero accessories and now just need to be TITAN...oh yeah that fight is fun but sucks at the same time. Let's make a fight where you have to be damn near perfect for 10 minutes straight with no dodging mistakes or else your run is wasted...yeah that is fun!!!!!
DF is useless except to practice the early stages...because no one is good enough to get past the heart phase consistently due to being under-geared etc.....

It takes nearly as much or MORE grinding to make a crafted piece of gear that's crappier then the grinded gear. Then you have to have a geared up lvl 50 crafter to actually make it (even more grinding). then you have to pentameld for it to actually be good, which requires even more (materia grinding) or tons of gil. 10 times to work for something that's still not as good overall in the end. And I wouldn't be surprised if CT comes out and they remove the cap and remove myth drops from WP and AK and move myth drops to Hard Mode WP and HardMode AK. So to get myth in 2.1/2.2 it would be CT, BCB, HM AK, HM WP, HM Primals, Ultimate Primals. -

It's unlikely a huge portion of the community is holding off on doing Coil so they can do CT first. In 1.0 we had a use for beastmen currency and in 2.0 we're given another type of currency that has only 1 purpose as alternate rewards from chests and quests. Giving them a use especially in terms of gear wouldn't hurt anything other than the people who buy cheap ones on AH and vendor them for the real prices.Quote:
