Telling you how it is done would probably result in a permaban.
And they were probably just random dungeons/areas that weren't completed, so they just left them in game so they could patch it later.
Well, I do belive they'll implement them at some point. The work thats gone into them though... i hope they are not put to one side for too long...
In another you posted a video of Islands, he got to them by zoning from Limsa region, well if you go there and go down a cave you end up getting teleported back to limsa, the Southern Islands leads to it, im assuming when these islands are open you will take a ferry (cuse just teleporting would be lame) from sourthern island.
don't forget Tanaka the Doblyn NM
Oh wow, I didnt know that area was already in the game (the cave with sulphuric rivers). I saw concept art for it in one of the making-of videos, and thought it would be released later.
No one said they will never be implemented in the game.
Also if I were you I would not promote those videos, it is obvious he is using a type of plain hacking used by rmts usually. I would not be surprised if he gets the banhammer very soon.
Aye i agree the ban hammer will swiftly come, but he freely posted these vidoes. And I guess I'm free to link them. I am not promoting any expliot.
more so i am saying "hai, look at this, whats u rekon its for??"
I might as well be posting all the botting tutorial vidoes up from youtube, and asking for them to be resolved :3
Its the same issue ^^
(CAN WE PLEASE GET SOMETHING DONE ABOUT THIS GUY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xB0wNLX1S5o) << someone who does need 100% removing from the game.
Come on SE/STF..........
BANHAMMER TIME
Most of those videos were in beta version. soo. may not be there now. I remember in beta (Alpha) I was floating around too and lag was bad lol
They all still exist now, some have slight changes. The only one you can no longer do is Ishgard.
I believe these were all done during beta and you can't do this anymore I am assuming.
were? why do people think these things have been thrown out? my guess is that Tanaka is still on the team and whatever plans he had for the game are probably just sitting on the back burner while they get this game sorted out. Simple really. Majority of things they had developed the game around wont suddenly be dropped, some are probably really good ideas too, just wait and see imo. Those videos look pretty cool, the first "coerthas dungeon" looks like a beastmen stronghold to me and the "island" is probably nothing and was meant to be nothing.Quote:
And more importantly, what do you guys think the intentions were for them?
Yea well as the saying goes, reasoning is not automatic. You may not agree with my reasoning but at least mine isn't "lol! conclusion fail" - there is a slim chance that Tanaka is off the team, the guy produced and directed the game for 6 years, you don't take 6 years of knowledge and throw them and replace them with a fresh face who knows nil about the game. Sure its in SE's benefit to have you believe that the "villain" is out of the picture but that's hardly reasonable nor believable for any thinking person.
The islands video excited me greatly. Obviously they should create unique islands with unique stuff inside. I REALLY hope they'll implement personal boat to visit them in the future.. :(
edit: in the one of the links on youtube (first link here) there is a sort of personal sihp dock.. but i noticed jumping fishes in the sea °_° So, why they are not implemented that detail in the rest of the areas?!
BTW the islands off the coast of LL are used in quests, blacksmith R36 quest tok place on the one. But not sure about other zones and other islands.
I don't know why people are still angry over this Tanaka/Yoshi thing.
Just keep positive about it :D
Also these videos were AWESOME :DD Don't ban the person in the videos or the poster of this thread D:
They've just shown cool stuff that you haven't implemented yet (or not going to) !!!!!
Tanaka is working for FFXI again.
Kinda thought that about the island off from uldah also ^^ guess i should have posted *spoliers* or something like that in title. (not that much is actualy revealed lol)
(there are quite a few more vids like them out there, I'd proberbly go as far to say that we only see half the game world they've designed atm) :)
My point was that the fact that some Tanaka-era unused places are in the game hardly points to him still actively participating in the game.
SE needs to make an expansion about Tanaka adding the ultimate evil to the game before getting sacked, Sundi can be the sub-boss, his "I don't know" gives you amnesia for 30 minutes.
Final Fantasy XIV Online: Chains of Tanaka
Why is it the people who are less knowledgeable about subjects use the term "n00b"? In the work place which you clearly are not a part of, getting sacked means getting sacked - Stepping downs means losing your position on the project but you are not off the team, you're just in a different position of it.
The business world is pretty black and white - if you're fired you're fired. If you're demoted you're demoted. If you step down you've stepped down.
I think it's hilarious how this guy doesn't even try to cover his name or server or anything XD
It's common for MMO developers to make hidden areas of the game purely for testing purposes with no intention of actually implementing them. Not saying this is the case with all of the shown zones, but I wouldn't start getting hyped up about them, they could just be for live testing. These types of zones exist in every MMO, and aren't intended to be accessible.
Aye.

Do you not realize what happened to the game the last 8 months? its not as if this game had a smooth launch and they built up on it, they obviously put a lot of things planned on hold or scrapped them but locations aren't one them. These places are in the game for use in the future, simple as that, otherwise they would've been used before the game was released. Maybe Tanaka himself had planned dungeons, he just never had the chance to implement them.
