I believe one the biggest faults of 1.0 (besides the fatigue system) was a lack of content. I was hoping with a re-launch there would not be that problem. I am told in 6 months to a year that should be fixed and we should wait until then. Or quit the game and come back in six months to a year.
When is a MMO finished?
I have had no problems with any such lack of content. I have one class relic'd and working on it for another class I just got to 50, and there's so much I still want to do that I'm struggling to manage my time.
There are a lot of things missing from FF14ARR now.
Majority of the current classes don't have their 2nd Job yet except for Arcanist.
Musketeer has not been released despite SE attempt to get this class into FF14 since 1.0
PvP is missing
Endgame is missing parts like Crystal Tower
and we don't have Hildebrand Quests!
Right now it way too early to judge this game due to missing contents they had to hold back to major updates because of issues in developing them into FF14 before release deadline hit.
When the servers are turned off, unless you're FF14 then you RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE!
To OP:
Not sure what kind of dustball you're playing on or bad ISP you've got that's giving you lag. Sorry for you.
Errors? Show me an online game that's never had any.
Lack of content? Clearly you are playing the wrong game. There is a lot of content to start with in FFXIV and more coming right around the corner.
No PvP? Fine by me, but it is coming and something they have been working on for quite some time. Can't wait? Then maybe you need a different hobby.
SE had a lot of people join in that they weren't expecting... This is pushing back all the progress and plans that they had... Now that free subscribes are running out SE should be able to get a better look at things open up more servers and resolve the lag and other issues on the game... Nothing happens overnight and MMO's take a little bit of time to develop... They have had some problems but i am satisfied with how they seem to be resolving them in a timely manner... I'm not happy that gold sellers were shouting and blowing up chat with SE standing on the sidelines when hiring 3 people per server to suspend accounts would be all that is needed but all in all they are doing a good job with the extreme amount of work that they have...
Why is it that whenever I see one of these posts complaining about lack of content the OP has like nothing but one or two classes leveled?
It's like using warps to get through Super Mario Bros. and complaining that the game only has 5 levels.
Ah great, another nobody who wanted to make a weak post because they thought they had a witty title. Didn't we get rid of these people when subscriptions hit?
Op, I feel the same way to be honest. I tell myself it'll get better with time, but question is how long? I'm hoping 2.1 will be as good as how they claim it will be, otherwise then...
A modern MMO that is released (twice) with less content than what vanilla WoW had on release almost a decade ago is pretty... Fail.
I play the game with realistic expectations and don't waste every hour of my life on the game... no complaints with the amount of content whatsoever. Really if you diversify your activity choices you'll things far more interesting.
As a PvP fan and a ex-FFXI player I feel that PvP will be wasted development time. I would love to be wrong... because well I am a PvP fan, but I just can't see them pulling it off when developers with a better pedigree can't even get it right anymore.
Oh wow Im relieved that its not finished. I just subscribed for 6 months and it would be pointless if nothing new was coming. lol
So one thread is not enough for you, you have to start another one stating the exact same thing?

Do you have ADHD?
We get it, Luggz. You want PvP. Your other 46 posts saying the same thing have made that quite clear.
Keep your pants on. It's coming.
I'd agree, to some extent. Regardless of how standard a weekly lockout on a raid is, it's not a good mechanic. If someone wants to overdo it, get burnt out, and run out of content to do, that's on them. I should not have to pay the price though. I simply entered Coil T2 with a party that quickly fell apart, didn't even attempt to complete it, and now, I'm locked out of turn 1 for the remainder of the week without even having stepped foot in there. As long as I'm geared enough, skilled enough, and I can find a party adequate enough to satisfy the group requirement I should be able to perform the relative content as often or as seldom I please. I consider, at least in part, my subscription fee as payment for the content I wish to enjoy, and I've no intention of paying to be barred from such content by mechanics unrelated to gear, skill, or party.
I am pretty bored also. And no I didn't "rush" anything. I play when I can...I just manage my time efficiently and get stuff done. Meh...getting so tired of seeing bored people being blamed for "rushing." I guess its just not possible that some people can clear stuff fast and manage their time properly. If you progress and get everything done...I guess it must be because you rushed!!
I also played in 1.0 and spent over 8 months getting everything to 50. Had fun and took my time. :P
Don't get me wrong though..not bashing the game. I have high hopes for it! Just getting sick of "LOLZ U RUSHED UR FAULT!!!1" -_-
Everytime I see someone say there is no content, I do look them up on the lodestone and they almost always have one job to 50 with no end game gear. I think people just love to complain.
I'm kind of laughing at how this person is an archer which is a job with little defense. Also I hope they dont expect to snipe people down as in there is no ledges to shoot from on the maps lol.
Stop thinking this is a game that has been out for 5+ years.
In 2 years time there will be so much to do you will have your week field out doing so much end game you will have to make trade off between leveling a new class or doing endgame.
Great game with 2 major problems right now:
1. Combat is slow and uninspired.
2.There simply isn't enough to do at endgame.
While #2 is being addressed in a major way with 2.1, combat will probably always be like this. That makes me sad panda!
I don't have much if any lag and I can't honestly remember the last time I saw an error code so I can't comment on either. I also don't care for PvP.
As far as content goes I feel like there isn't much else to do to improve my BLM other than hammer out coil runs each week and I feel sad.
Then I remember I am also trying to gear out WHM then bard, level arcanist, carpentry, weaver and leatherworking. Then I want to level miner and do goldsmithing and armoring. Cooking will fit in there somewhere as will fishing. I want to max out my chocobo and collect all the minions.
I'm never going to get all that done before 2.1 comes out and then I will want to do all the things there too.
Yeah, it can feel like there is not much to do if you only concentrate on your favorite class/job but if you are like me and want to do all the things its quite overwhelming.
If you really don't want to branch out I would stop your sub for a few months and come back later when more content is added.
I definitely feel a lack of polish with this game, but SE had to have had a reason to release a game that clearly wasn't ready yet.
It may be influences from the business side of the organization, and SE was on a death march to release a product that may or may not have been ready.
The first two weeks of launch were an indication of the types of problems that crop up with a beta product.
At the end of the day, we did get a free month + a week to play the game and I accept that the first month of the game was a beta period I had to play through. In the end, I want this game to survive and will continue to support it in the hopes that SE gets their act together and releases a version of the product that they are proud of.
I cannot imagine that Yoshi and the development team believe that their launch product was "their best shot". There had to be constraints/politics that we are not aware of and I will patiently wait until their vision for this game is available.
Right now this game is just a big grind, but I enjoy playing it none the less.
Farm Myth and do 2-4 turns of BCB
Level Alts to 50
Level Crafts to 50
Run WP 1000's of times to gear said alts
Run CM 1000's of Times to spirit bind.
Rense Repeat.
My problem is everything I do I do because I like progressing on hard boss fights. Yet I spend less than 5% of my game time on said hard boss fights because I have no choice.
because ppl don't want to waste time when see the same linear progress with tomes. End game gear has no option nor set bonus and the next patches only bring the same linear content to do in a week ; this gear in open world has 0 utility and seems like a giant lobby to wait until ur next same run. U don't need to lvl up all the jobs for see what happens now,so many players knows perfectly the direction of this game and some of us are tired of see again a good game failing with more casual content.
The combat system is already a mindless spamfest. It's WAY TOO FAST. Adding any more speed would destroy what little skill the game requires. And most of that comes with dodging enemy attacks, not with any attacks the player personally does. How in the hell could you make it any faster without requiring the player to drill keys like a jackhammer? Are modern mmo players nothing but ADHD people who furiously masterbate too often? FFXI had a much better combat system. Tone the speed down, add high levels of complexity, increase things you can do as a party (skill chains and other similar things rather than just attack spam) and make enemies have a lot of variety so players have to think about what they are doing and stay on their toes. There's none of that in this game outside of boss fights.
For the amount of complaining people do when comparing a game to other MMO's (WoW in particular), no one seems to remember what WoW was like at launch... (or they just joined in Post BC when it was polished and easy)
PVP in mmorpgs is generally awful. Virtually every game out there has pvp. Why ruin this one too? That's time the devs could be using to improve the actual game rather than appeal to people who are taking a break from their CoD marathons.
