New Job(s) for patch 2.1?

So as I was reading over the Developer's Blog, I saw a lot of housing stuff, the sort function in use, developmental art of some designs and then at the bottom.. I see this image:

Dragon Knight? :D Is the evidence that they are thinking about adding new jobs? What skills do you think it would have. What other jobs do you think they might add? lol

that is the Japanese name for a Dragoon :P that might not be right but Dragon Knight and Dragoon is the same thing

and that is the AF+2 Dragoon armor :P

well yeah, it isn't about housing. It isn't about new jobs either. You're reading too far into it, mr-person-with-chart-of-dream-jobs-in-sig.

While they DID say they don't necessarily have to make an expansion to add new jobs, that doesn't mean every patch is going to add one.

So I'm guessing from this AF2 set art we are getting the Real AF2 set soon since the Myth tome set is called Relic set

No. We're barely getting the full housing system for a year, new jobs is much, much, much further down the line.

Think 3.0 at earliest, aka when the first full expansion mentioned earlier this year comes out.

Image was shown by accident by Wada when he was showing housing pictures. It wasn't intended to be shown at that time.

Dev blog is being silly; by showing it again.

Dragoon is '竜騎士' in Japanese, which is essentially 'Dragon Knight'. Was that way in XI, and.. practically every other FF, I think?

It gets special mention because... it's not about housing when the rest of the blog entry is? Also probably because Dragoon is a very popular/well loved job, I figure.

I doubt we'll see new jobs for a while yet.

No one flamed you - We already have information that jobs at minimum would be out around the first expansion, which is stated to be at least a year after launch.

would luv to see gunblade as a job aka archer lvl 30 and gladiotor lvl 15 >that would be sweet

They actually showed several of the AF2, Yoshi-P himself holding the pages. I don't think it was "accidental", probably more of Yoshi-P's 'kekeke I'm going to show you things I probably shouldn't' shenanigans.

There's Bard, Summoner, Monk, what's most likely Warrior, and I'm going to guess what Kantide posted is Black Mage & White Mage.

And yeah, the replies here were a far cry from "flaming".

If they stay true to SE new jobs will not be in a patch they will come in the form of expansions that you will have to buy.

There was a previous interview where Yoshida (I think it was PAX) said that it is very much possible that we will see a new job or two before the expansion.

He also mentioned the possibility of jobs coming off of jobs such as to get Red Mage you need Black Mage and White Mage.

I'm actually curious how they will handle the leveling of a class/Job that requires the unlock and level required (most likely you'll need to be lvl 50 on class and complete the last Job quest) of 2 Jobs.

If Red Mage requires Black Mage and White Mage will it have a separate level system like a Rank level system being a Level system separate from basic class levels.

Example: basic Level is set on class.

When leveling Rank system you will be given exp for Rank and Class Exp. However, Rank and Class level are separate so if Red Mage requires Black Mage and White Mage then Red Mage will be set at lvl 50 for class level but Rank lvl will be level 1 because you only gain Red Mage Skills through leveling Rank instead of Class level (which class and 1st Jobs focus on for unlocking their skills)

I want that new Allegan Tanking set -drools-

Dark Knight can't be a tank, he would be too similar to Warrior. I hope that Dark Knight is the other Marauder job, and that it's a DPS Job.

Dark Knight is better the DPS spec for Gladiator.
Give Marauder the Vikings as DPS spec.

Considering SE works at less than a snail's pace (with everything, not just mmos), I wouldn't hold your breath on new classes or jobs anytime soon.

Check back in a few years, see if we get lucky.

I'd rather see Dark Knight come from a new class so it would have a new weapon type personally.
