RMT might be a problem

But we can blacklist them...

what i fail to understand is, when say i am talking to my friend ABCDE

Say ABCDE sends me a message, then i start typing with /r "<insert huge 10 page long message taking 10 days to complete>"

And RMT sends me a bot tell, and he is already in my blacklist

My message fails saying you can't send tell to this person because he is on your blacklist


I find that very annoying....

Can we get a fix, so either /r then you press tab will turn the message into /tell ABCDE, or change blacklist so /r will bypass them?

The problem should be "Why do we keep receiving tells from our blacklist ?!"

Trying using "Alt+r" to reply. It will show you the name of the person that you are replying to. I've noticed that it's not always the last person that I got a /tell from. My guess is that the blacklisted person sent a /tell, but you didn't get it, so it looks like your friend was the last person. The server knows that you got a /tell from the RMT, so /r or "Alt+r" replies to them even though you never saw the /tell. I am just speculating this, but it seems like a sound theory.

As far as receiving /tells from someone on your blacklist; I would check the names closely. Sometimes they only change one letter in the name of new characters.

if you use alt +r and hit it a second time it works the same function as tab does in several other games and goes to the next person who sent you a tell recently in your list. This is even works if you log out and log back in.

If he had a message "can't reply because of blacklist", that means that the tell is from someone in your BL.

Like I said in my previous post; it doesn't always reply to the last person that you saw a /tell from, so he could have been getting a /tell from RMT2, but actually replying to RMT1.

nope. definitely had that from people on my blacklist. had it in shout too that randomly a spam by someone from my blacklist 'slipped through'. I tried to add them (c+p the name even to make sure, or right-click, send tell, change text into /blacklist add "helloim aspammer") and it said they were already on my blacklist. definitely not a 'mixed up letters' issue. changing zones usually fixes it but the issue is definitely there.

Okay then. I'm out of ideas lol.

I've noticed that RMT shouts and tells can sometimes get through even if they are blacklisted. Most often it is when moving between zones.

This is because you opened your blacklist after adding them. It might be a bug, but its not them sending more messages. It's just you having an echo of their last one.

the /blist add thing i not a solution. I add 3 to 4 per game session.

I made a modified channel that removed Shout. I will end up adding tells to the list of channels removed.
Every now and then I hit the default channel and it's a wall of rolling spam. Chat is pretty much being deleted from the game day by day.
