The things I would do for a FF8 like card mini game vs others players in XIV

One of my favourite part about FF8 was the cards collecting and the amazing matches against difficult NPC with difficult rule sets.

How amazing would it be if XIV had the same exact card system implemented in FFXIV with some additions. You kill a certain type of monster and you have a chance to get it card. Even a random Coil/Crystal Tower/Primals drop would be awesome.

If I remember right this was brought up during beta and I believe Yoshi had said something like "we might if I get a good concept for a card game" not a quote lol.

So idk, I suggest if you or anyone else really wants a game you should start tossing some ideas out there.

I have no idea what I would do ...card games are probably simple to make but hard to make enjoyable, just my thoughts.

Would give players something to do. I would love to see Triple Triad in this game.

Triple Triad was too easy to abuse by having superior cards. This is part of what made it fun.

But I'd love something similar to it.

Honestly, if TT were in this game I wouldn't do anything else ;_;

Put me down for some Triple Triad!

It was indeed brought up, and I think Yoshi has mentioned not having a super idea come across his desk.

I would absolutely love having something like this in game. The collector in me would go nuts.

Whoa I use to play FF8 just for the card game too lol.

And when it's released, we should rename the game to Final Fantasy: A Card Game Reborn. o.o

I concur! I'd be awesome!

If it were a new game, I'd be all for it. If it was like triple triad (or any previously done ff card game) I'd avoid it as much as possible.

Maybe we need a topic for people to put up suggestions for a new card game. Not triad or anything previously done, but a game with new stuff (how game works, rules, etc), which I just realized is pretty much what I quoted...

I absolutely agree TT would be amazing to have and play with strangers/friends. Though I'm a little disappointed by your thread title. I was expecting a humorous list of "The things I would do for a FF8 like card mini game vs others players in XIV" get on that! XD

Would love a card game. Would also love blitzball.

I would love some kind of card game like Triple Triad or Tetra Master! Would definitely add hours upon hours to ffxiv's experience.
